Gor Mahia edged KCB 3-2 in a thrilling Tusker Premier league match.

Gor Mahia held on to beat KCB 3-2 in an entertaining Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match played at the City Stadium on Wednesday.
Gor Mahia’s Innocent Mutiso could have opened the scoring as early as in the fourth minute, Innocent Mutiso placing his shot from outside the box inches wide after an inviting pass from Ugandan Dan Sserenkuma.
Rama Salim too wasted another good chance to open the scoring, shooting wide after Dan Sserenkuma had done the spade work.
He however got the goal in the 22nd minute heading in past KCB custodian Sammy Okinda after the latter had punched Geoffrey Kizito’s hard shot.
Gor Mahia did well to deny Mungai Kiongera in the 43rd minute, with Jerim Onyango diving to parry the striker’s shot.
The visitors won a freekick soon after the restart, Kiongera stepping up to take it but his perfectly weighted shot went just inches wide.
David Owino doubled the lead for Gor Mahia a minute later, heading in Innocent Mutiso. Innocent Mutiso made matters 3-0 in the 61st minute, beating Okinda with a delightful volley after Sserenkuma had chested Musa Mohammed’s cross from the right flank his way.
However Gor lost concentration and allowed KCB to pull one back, youngster Chrispinus Odhiambo beating Jerim with an easy left-footed shot in the 78th minute. <\P>
Kiongera added the second from the spot after Walusimbi tripped Ezekiel Odera in the box in added time.
We did dominate this game but laxity could hav cozed us,thou iwatched the match from Shags we had somany chances but we didnt utilize, then we gifted them 2silly goals but we hav won n thanks 2the almighty 4r those who managed what happened after the game?
At least we got the 3pts,so it was a good result. However a clean sheet wld have been better. But then you don’t expect that with Jerry between the sticks,do you?.He dived like someone after a grasshoper and not a ball. The ref got it wrong with the penalty but that does’nt justify misbehaviour frm fans.Hooligans pls we are looking for a sponsor.Pls give us a break we need a good image.
Wawawawa you should see the replay OMG Jerry! If he watches the replay he will be ashamed of himself. Poor positioning caused the first goal just like he did with Esperence, Bandari, Top fry, Tusker its just unbelievable. The coach should give the guy a rest before we get chest pains from poorly conceded goals. Otherwise at least we managed to score goals but could have been more if we just learn to build towards the goal with patience. I still feel the cohesiveness is still low though its improving.
I wish the coach could have introduced Blackberry and Kariuki earlier on that 5 minutes to the end. He needs to build the players confidence by giving them more playing time so that we stop depending on Danny. I pray we win against Thika too.
Happy for the win but sad because of hooliganism and two easy goals
Congratulations to the team, lets thank God for helping us to re-discover the winning ways. Scoring thrice is great, that should be the spirit. Lets give the Coach and his bench credit for working hard during the week to secure the good results today. On the substitutions, I would be slow to blame the coach on acting late, normally when you find a working formula, you let it thrive. Little did we know that we would concede those two easy goals. But thats football, thats why it is played 90plus minutes, it is never over until it is over!! Congrats, lets keep the same spirit but a BIG NO to HOOLIGANISM. Lets learn tolerance even in our comments here.
It was quite a relief after recent poor shows. God bless Gor Mahia.
For those goons please see what is happening to city stars. No serious player will want to play for us if we have financial issues.
Congrats for the sweet victory. At least for the next 3 days or so we shall experience some tranquility on this blog. No one calling Jagoal jajuok, blaming WB/JB, no one daring Rama/K14/oboya/Oguna to leave etc.
Calm, calm calm and endless calm.
For God and my beloved club – Kogallo.
I am breathing a sigh of relief. The way things have been going, a defeat would not have been shocking. BTW, I see that the FISA duo were missing even from the bench. Maybe they were given time to cool off. Ma fans nao will never learn. Even now after hooliganism has cost us a sponsor they still misbehave.
Jerry jajuok and i cant shy off, this is not his year in gor mahia look at the the first goal against of kcb.
It is high time for the jerry guy to rot on the bench we wont accept such goals when other players are toiling in the pitch.
I will be more than glad to contribute to Gor Mahia even Kshs.1000 if there is a clear channel where we can send the money. Gor Mahia has fans abroad and no one has ever approached us to offer support to the team. Second, why hasn’t the took ownership of the jersey’s and copyrighted them? Why can’t the club own businesses such as hotels, parks, museums etc? And finally, what will the club do with the problem of hooliganism? Personally, i think this a problem of Gor fans.
Congrats boys, the league is competative mani, each team straggling,so ebu cheki, who can blve afc ingwe ilipigwa na k.r.a? with their full squad keli, shikokoti, mude, were, wanga.kasaya, etc,
.
playerd were working hard but jerry is letting them down is that type of goal to score plse give the two youthful goalkeeper to prove themselves
From yesterdays ugly incident we as stakeholders in football must ask ourselves very tough questions….
Is Gor as a club doing enough to stem hooliganism? No!!will we ever get rid of that monster?am not too sure!!
Who has the answers to those questions??
for our strikers to keep working hard only for the GK to allow in silly goals,is unacceptable n demoralising, something must be done n quick, thank God for the three points
Let the rules governing hooliganism be applied to the letter. Gor Mahia should be docked 3 points with immediate effect. Its painful but that is the only way our stupid fans if at all they are will learn. No shortcut to stamping out hooliganism but to take hard decisions.
For God and my beloved club – Kogallo
Albert@14….i think that only applies to where a match has been interrupted…and thats not the case here.
However, action needs to be taken….but then again how many times have we talked about this and nothing has happened????
Docked 3 points? For what? There is no fan who touched the referee. The fans were just shouting out their frustration. It is our usually trigger happy police who lobbed tear gas as is the norm when they hear any noise.
The match was ended and a few noisemakers started shouting at the referee. In any stadium world over we have shouting, boos, clicking and noise. How many times does it warrant tear gas. We had won the game for heavens sake. The fans were just airing their displeasure.
In Kasarani, Ingwe fans also held hostage the coaches for a few minutes to air their frustration and seek answers. Di you hear of tear gas? Should they be docked 3 points after losing the same? Let us not try to be angels here.
Thank you God fer the victory. God I pray that you make Jerry understand that he is doing more harm to the team than hooligans. God we surrender all to you and put all our trust in you.
thank God we worn. a clean sheet would have been good for us but with Jerry that’s impassible. we need to change a jagol urgently
Where is Jakoyo? He will tell you that 3 goals is not enough! He will question why the strikers did not score. Wait and see. But I suspect he is now happy that the hooligans did what he wanted!! Otherwise, those are 3 points gained.
3-2 victory was good but tam convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that there are some players at gor Mahia who need to be benched forever! Literally forever.
Bloggers I think this hooliganism thing, is a pyschological problem and here is how it works….
Hooligan: An isolated individual who feels that he can be clouded by the huge masses of die hard fans. He triggers an action to incite the masses! He thinks the masses will protect him, isn’t it?
Police: law enforcers who in most cases are overpowered by the huge masses, they notice the slightest commotion in the crowd and they go for defence mode…tear gas! That is what they have been trained to do, isn’t it?
Public: passerbys and innocent individuals minding their own business who think that gor Mahia is a bunch of hooligans. Every time they see a green jersey nearby, they are quick to hide their wallets, lock their doors, shut their windows and referees their cars in the middle of the road in fear of violence, that is how the mind of the public works, isnt it?
SOLUTION…I have come to realize it is gor mahian fans who encourage hooliganism. I have been to stadiums and what I see around me can be shocking to say the least ! next time you are in the stadium and you see a drunk, bhang smoking, idiot shouting insults to any human being inside the stadium and wearing a gor Mahia jersey, get hold of him, beat him up, undress the gor Mahia jersey from him and lock him in police cells. Lesson learnt!
Once the police and the public see this action from gor Mahia fans and we repeat this over and over to every goon who misbehaves inside the stadium, then hooliganism will be a thing of the past and it will be the beginning of restoring some pride to this brand!
@pmawengo, I am not a hooligan and do not wish to be associated with such, please withdraw you statement, it is in bad taste !
As much as hooliganism is not the way to voice our frastrutions docking us 3 points for a game that ended peacefully is taking the issue too far. Next time the fans get involved in skirmishes with touts or hawkers out there in town will we be deducted points?
I am happy that at least we are having scorers different from Danny just when we had started ssking how fir a whole year a striker doesn’t register even a single goal. On Jagoal it’s very frastruting to make such a schoolboy error. Unfortunately we cannot rely on him anymore. Another issue I noticed is that our strikers still lack the composure in front of goal otherwise we could have had not less than 6 goals. And why do our strikers not want to provide the assist to the teammate in a better scoring position? Noticed it yesterday again. Can’t they learn from the unselfish play of Sturridge and Suarez?
@ Jakoyo thanks for clarifying. We were quite concerned with your earlier posts where you appeared to justify hooliganism especially if results didn’t go your way. I am very glad you have come out to say you don’t support such behaviour. Meanwhile, I hope you help spread the good news to those who may attempt hooliganism
Jerry you are a let down to the team as you water down all the efforts made by the team by conceding easy goals. we just need to polish our striking department in the box and we will be home n‘ dry.
After we complained in this blog that some players who feel that are special should be benched and others who are perceived as fringe be given a chance, we all witnessed the seriousness they displayed in the pitch yesterday infact Jerry should as well pave way for Juma.
On hooliganism it‘s a pity that it‘s a vice that our security forces are unable to deal with. lnfact drunkards and bhang smokers should not be allowed in the stadium. Hopes the team will keep the same momentum in our remaining matches.
As we celebrate the win yesterday we now have a HUGE task on our laps. Looks like all our effrts to get a sponsor have not borne fruit. This therefore means that we need to find out how we will fill the gap of over 3m per month. We have been very vocal fans of the club. Now a different type of support will be needed and that is financial support. The office has partly let us down as we have been asking for the Gor Mpesa Paybill number to be reactivated but the officials have been busy with everything else apart from responding to this. Now as a matter of desperation they will need to respond.
On organsing us financially let’s talk to the likes of the Nairobi Governor to guide us or lead this task. He has proved to be capable of doing this but we have to ensure that we keep politics away from everything we do.
@sam muga which God are you praying to,how can you infer that a players blunder is worse than acts of destroying/stealing peoples property and hurting them with stones in the name of GM,such kind of prayers/comments are the ones that encourage hooliganism.
Fellow supporters Yes Jerry form has dipped, but its unfair to abuse him and even call him jajuok,we can rebuke him gently cause he’s one of us and he has done well for us in the past and am sure he hopes do do well in future. What if david owino’s form dips, will we call him names? lets think first before we condemn.
About Hooliganism,i want to remind Mr.Chairman, when he was elected he promised to deal with hooliganism head-on(though for me i think he only added it in his pledges since Adede had come out very strongly against the vice).what steps have the chairman taken towards fulfilling this pledge,in-house not as fkf/kpl.To tame this vice we must stop relying on police. Please Mr.Chairmain engage gor mahia fans via dialogue, forums or any other means that you can get ideas on how to go about it,lets be proactive,we must think ahead of these “endangered species” and stop being reactive. These guys are still around and lets not cheat ourselves.what if we were losing yesterday???.Am sure the chair would just say those were not gor fans.
For once i agree with jakoyo, any hooligan caught and he is wearing a gor jersey/scarf should be stripped off the jersey and burn it.This am sure would be a very strong statement to hooligans and the public that Gor Mahia fraternity does not condone hooliganism.
Mr.Ambrose lets see your leadership skills on this.By the way what campaign pledge are you working on to fulfill, keep us on the know, usiwe kama politician.

To the people who are saying that the three points should be taken away from us ,you are misleading us and you should know some football basics. The game was over and the referee was having the ball in his hands and therefore according to fifa rules there is no reason why the points should be taken away from us,so don’t try to be mr.clean.
Another issue is when we always criticize players who are betraying the effort of their teammates here, some of the bloggers always say that our comments will affect the players.Did you see the game that the serious players played yesterday…? The sianga group of players who are always claiming that they are the ones who brought gor back to kenya premier league were not there apart from jerry who still disappointed. I will still maintain my stand even if am remaining alone,Jerry should watch the game from Terraces, the school boy mistakes which are costing the team every day we wont accept, the guy should join his group he was sabotaging the team with on the terraces. At times the careless comments we are always making here has a positive effect to the team performance, when ogango was mad here last week other bloggers were against him, know it is all congratulations ,i still repeat jerry should be out,the guy is selling the team effort to our opponents .
I think the game yesterday showed a bit of spark that is in the Team. I also think that by the middle of the season, Williamson will have known his first eleven. And am afraid that some of the players who have been there longer may just be on the bench. The game showed a bit of flow as opposed to staccato type that some play thus causing frequent looses of the ball to the opponents.I think also that the kinds of goals our keeper is conceading are of his own making.I wish he could ask for time out just to raise his concentration again. Please do not take an offense it is because we love Gor Mahia FC.
Jack omollo, I agree with you 100% Jerry is a liability to the team. He has made silly mistakes from Charity cup,Bitam,Top fry,Bandari and now KCB. When will this end? Is he the only keeper we have? NKT
@Jack Omollo last week we were called hooligans simply because we refused to sweep things under the carpet. Must Jerry be the man between the post surely ? .
We understand in football there are three results and what we we‘ve been asking from players is seriousness and commitment in the pitch period. We witnessed that yesterday and I must say most fans were impressed with the results apart from the dubious penalty that was awarded in the dying minutes.
Let Rachier embrace Mpesa idea so that we can contribute for the team. This is the time for us to see his leadership qualities.
club account in red, hopes of getting a sponsor doomed, bamburi, keroche pulled out, tuko matatani jothurwa
jerry has done well in the past and i believe he still can do well,as we point out his mistakes or rebuke lets do so without abusing him, form dip can happen to any player even for the ones you see now doing well like calabar.Does it mean if it happens to him we will abuse him and forget the good that he has done.Guys we are a family lets rebuke gently and not bring tension to other players.
kindi 4llm bloggers who has ARs no 2 txt me on 0721407456
Let the couch maintain the squad playd kcb,nd only make one correctn in btwn the stick, goalkipa, otherwise the squad wz pleasing…al the best, ulinzi 2wajaa!,wabiro afraha ,
On the issue of Jagoal, i will only encourage him to keep fighting. I will not join those condemning you. Yo made some good saves but lost one goal easily.
Keep fighting.
Lack sponsorships, we have just to blame our fans who are destroying our trade mark. I had said before that Gor Mahia should be docked points if this trend of thuggery and menace continues.
We are sick and tire of reading negative reports about our fans that have refused to control their tempers.
KPL and FKL should come up with heavy penalties in order to bring sanity and soberness to the club fans that thinks they are supermen.
All fans causing havoc should be identified and arrested.
1. Jerry is not Jajuok as some people would like to portray him, he’s loosing concentration at times which is worrying but as Levelmind Fan has pointed out rightly, players all over the world experienced some dip in form. And we have example right with us. The Rama Salim of yesteryear is different with the current Rama Salim and yet he’s the same person. Let’s give Jerry some encouragement and fair critiques not name branding him as Jajuok because by doing this we are also killing his ego and this will make him blunder between the sticks due to a lot of pressure and fear. Let’s encourage him but he must be warned.
2. For funds Ambrose Rachier must get get serious and come up with bright ideas on how to raise funds and lift Gor Mahia fortunes financially. He’s been in that office and he knew that the sponsorship was coming to an end. Did he have to wait for the deal to end for him to start looking for another sponsor? Why didn’t he look for more co – sponsors when we had the existing one because by then we were a bit stable. Rachier must wake up and patent some of Gor Mahia merchandise like the team’s Jersey, the team logo and the name. It’s easy to raise money from the membership of the club and ticket sales. Rachier have never capitalized on this. In this time and age why in the love of God do Gor management insist on Branch membership yet one can subscribe to a member over the phone? I’m ready to develop for Gor mahia the software to do this free of charge. How can he get a fan of Gor mahia who would like to be a member and he/she is in Migingo Island through branch membership? Generate membership through the office via mobile phones, produce membership cards and serialize them so that a dedicated fan become a proud owner of member 1 or 2 or whatever. Put it on the Clubs website so that the club can harvest the rich base of the diaspora. Forget about the mpesa account number this one will not work without the proper registration channel.Mpesa will be a cash cow for the EC without proper channel. Then Rachier must – MUST negotiate with one of the local banks to deal with our gate collection. Let’s purchase tickets from a selected and negotiated bank so that we can do away with the fake receipt printout by some officials. any other opinion on how we can raise money for the club is welcomed.
3. HOOLIGANISM. Let’s the concerned fans who have the team at heart form a fan vigilante group. We only need a dedicated two hundred people or more the few stupid people will be chased away from the stadium.
REQUIREMENTS: 1. Office to register these people
2. You volunteer 3. Be ready for to guide and talk to these wayward fans. 4. Carry Nyaunyo or Jaridi. 5. No smoking Bangi in the staduim. 5. Be ready for war as a volunteer. Anyone who is ready to start registering their names training will be conducted free.
