Gor Mahia files formal appeal

Kenya’s Gor Mahia has now officially appealed to the Football Kenya Federation(FKF) disciplinary committee to intervene and dismiss Tuesday’s Kenyan Premier League ruling that their botched Sunday league match against Sony Sugar be replayed.
The club has appealed to the federation disciplinary committtee to make a thorough perusal of match officials documents when making a ruling on the appeal the team has lodged over their abandoned Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match against Sony Sugar in Awendo last week.
During a press briefing held on thursday morning, Club Chairman Ambrose Rachier insisted that the Match Commissioner indicated in his report there was an incident of match officials being attacked by Sony players and fans immediately Gor netted the equalizer which led to the abandonment in the 85th minute.
“The decision of the appeal we have lodged should squarely be pegged on what the match officials wrote in their reports. It was obvious that Sony are the ones who caused the premature ending of the match and for KPL to order for a replay is tantamount to application of double standards,” said Rachier who was flanked by secretary General George Bwana, senior vice chairman David Kilo and treasurer Samuel Ominde.
Rachier’s remarks comes in the wake of a decision by KPL to order for a replay of the match at the neutral Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on September 18 after the original fixture last Sunday in Awendo was marred by crowd trouble and the assault of officials by incensed Sony players and fans who disputed Gor’s second goal by David Owino.
Rachier said the decision of their appeal should be taken with the highest sobriety possible, adding that Gor ought to be awarded maximum points by the league organisers since Sony were the ones who caused mayhem with their fans invading the pitch towards the end of the match and not K’ogalo’s.
The appeal committee chaired by Richard Omwela is expected to respond to the appeal early next week
Rachier said they will abide by whatever ruling the disciplinary committee will come up with but hastened to add that it should fall within the clauses since Gor is clearly the aggrieved side.
“We don’t want to appear as if we are playing politics, but if the status quo that we replay Sony remains then we’ll be convinced that the disciplinary committee was not fair in it’s ruling. There will be certainly no way we’ll not feel cheated if the match is replayed. But if they (organisers) feel there should be a repaly so be it,” he said.
In the meantime, Rachier hailed Gor fans for conducting themselves with decorum even after the match was abandoned.
“I must commend the Gor fans as there was no act of lawlessness on their part. They exercised a lot of restraint and this is the policy we have declared we’ll take in all our future matches. Our policy is to maintain peace. I must also the club’s stewards for ensuring that our peaceful throughout the match,”
Added Rachier,” Gor fans should remain calm as the executive explores legal avenues to push our appeal.
The well attended match at Awendo raised Ksh 742,000 in gate collection.
Ha ha ha ha ha the cow is being milked, This time by someone asking for replay so that is Gor does not honor, we loose the three points and bet penalized Kshs 1million
lets just put it this way….if Gor was leading 2-1 with 5mins to go and SoNy scored a “controversial” goal and our players protested the goal leading to abandonment of the game, what would the ruling be??
Having been in that situation before,we all know the answer to that question!
Let the football powers that be rule fairly and justly!this time we are the aggrieved team…give us our dues!!
This is a continuation of my article #10 on FKF orders for the File. Please read it if you can. Fellow Gor Mahia followers, good morning. I feel relieved because of these two occurrences.
1. The EC deciding to appeal the KPL ruling ordering for a replay. They must be commended for being brave.
2. Super Sports providing video clips of the abandoned match.
From wht I saw last night during the Simba Soccer Programme, its right to conclude that:
A) Gor Mahia should be exonerated from any wrong doing hence be awarded the 3 points. B)SONY should be found guilty of causing an abandonment of the match hence no replay should be ordered and should lose the 3 points.
C)Kasaya, the Sony goalkeeper should be charged for violent conduct. He should face a lengthy ban if found guilty.
D) A disciplinary hearing/action should be opened against the Match commissioner and the referee if incase they failed to mention in their reports, the conduct/behaviour of the SoNY Players and their officials immediately Gor Mahia scored the equalizing goal. Thank you.
@ Le pastre thanks for ua observation. We are crying for justice. Let it be done!
this makes sense to you le Pastre. money makes sense to those calling for replay.
@la pastre: i missed the programme but i do believe that you have made a good level headed judgement without bias. and just to point out the (D) PART.
why did this happen. why did the commissioners find it necessary to leave out the part of the referee being molested. and to add insult to injury why is the referee quiet about it? why does he instead leave it that the abandonment was coz of the fence yet his life was in danger!
there is something very wrong!
the referee and the match commissar need thorough investigation. now i can see why fifa never pick these kenyan types for international matches. why do kenyan football clubs live with this corrupt fkf?
Agreed justice should be served. The strength of electronic media will come out clearly for everyone to see.
i also congratulate the chair AR for coming out and giving a good way forward. as much as he has (plus the gor fraternity) felt aggrieved, he has shown diplomacy. this is a good way forward different from the normally emotional outbursts common from bwana et frazier. i think chairman, you should keep this up so that these guyz learn from you. the way you have made the comments leaves fkf with no choice but to look at the evidence which is now everywhere for all to see. what zico et kasaya did is what caused the abandoment. the fence came down when fans reacted to a chaos they ignited. as much as i initially wanted a replay, i now have changed heart especially after the way the gor chair has come out on this matter.
@LA PASTRE the third option is to have a well control neverse system linking brain and the rest of the body. CAN YOU EXPLAIN TO ME THE RED CARD RULE AS PER THE FIFA STATUTE. WAS KASAYA AND ZICO BEHAVIOUR QUALIFY TO BE RED CARDED? WHY DID NASSUR DOKKA NOT ISSUE CARD TO ZICO AND KAYASA EVEN AFTER BOTH LEFT THERE AREA OF JURISDICTIONS MARKED FOR THEIR FUCTIONS?
Ooh Laa la “LAWS OF NATURE DICTATES THAT IN EVERY ACTIONS
YOU PER-TAKE PLEASE EXPECT EQUAL REACTION”
Even the HOLY SCRIPTURES will justify that our fans reacted within the acceptable limits of HUMAN nature and i agree with @ comrade Le Pastre statement in clause (A), that with the video clip evidence from SuperSports; GOR MAHIA should be fully exonerated from this mess.
Samuel 1:17
When the Phillipines army gathered and provoked the Isrealites and instilled fear in King Saul, GOD alternative was only to send DAVID to accomplish his spiritual mission. And we all know what happened after that.
Mathew 21:13
When Jesus went to Jerusalem for the PASSOVER feast and he found the temple of the lord had been turned into a hawking mall and forex bureau, he had no option but to physically chase them away as he quoted from Isaiah 56:7: “My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you make it a den of robbers.”
QUESTIONS
1.Why did Zico leave his area of jurisdiction and extended his
DEMONS to GOR MAHIA holy bench? He ended jabbed to the ground.
2.Why did Kasaya and cronies extend their ill tempers to all
Gor Mahia players ON/OFF the pitch?
3.Why was SoNy chair One. Mr. Odera before and during match
inciting and telling provoking hired “OBANDAS” against the
holy Gor Mahia fans?
4.If SoNy had proper security arrangement what was their role
during the insecurity scenes?
NOW THE HYPOCRITES OF GOR MAHIA.NET TELL US IF THE PROVOCATION DID NOT WARRANT THE “HUMAN LAW OF NATURE ” AND AN EQUAL REACTION FROM OUR WELL BEHAVED FANS TO CREATE A SHIELD OF PROTECTION FOR OUR TEAM IN SUCH A STATE OF LAWLESSNESS AND INSECURITY.
Ogango two wrongs don’t make a right hooliganism is hooliganism and i condemn it from any quarter(with Kogalo it affects me more coz Kogalo is huge and also a market leader in East Africa and a lot is expected from the soccer powerhouse and i loose bragging rights among my peers when the green army looses it) explain further the human law of nature… i don’t get you on that.
Sony is a small team don’t you realize that only Kogalo faithful are noticing and talking about this imagine had it been our mighty green army involved it could have been the talk on dstv with Carol Radull.
@ogango : kindly note that rapist, gangsters and hooligans can and do use the bible to defend themselves and just like you, they even quote the verses to justify what they do. that you can actually Christ as an example for your love for violence tells alot about your character too.
Ogango trailer who are the hypocrates of gor mahia .net?
@Nykogalo wanafik wako wengi hapa kilamara mashabiki ni wabaya hatakama mashabiki hawaja fanya cho chote.kila mara hooligans ama Ec.
@Nykogalo wanafik wako wengi hapa kilamara mashabiki ni wabaya hatakama mashabiki hawaja fanya kitu cho chote.kila mara hooligans ama Ec.
It is good that the ec has gone official and done the legaly required thing. This is what i call playing one’s part. But remember going by the rules and based on the facts on the ground one would argue that the game could not continue as fans jammed the pitch of play. We could have easily been awarded the 3 points had these hooligans kept their place in the terraces! We all want the 3 points but we will not run away from facts. We cannot win everything non football and football all the time, the theory of saboteurs in GM jerzies is hot air we must shun coz i’ve met a guy confessing to have urinated on vegetables in Nakuru while we normally talk of malice here…the truth is that these weird things are done at GM. I also note AR has said they’ll abide by the decision.
