Gor Mahia held scoreless by Ushuru
Gor Mahia have started the second leg of the league in much the same way they started the first. On Sunday, Ushuru, who have recently proved a tough nut to crack, held Gor Mahia to a 0-0 draw.

K’Ogalo blew away chance to close gap between them and league leaders Tusker FC after they were held by taxmen
Gor Mahia were held to a frustrating draw by Ushuru FC in a league match played on Sunday.
The fifteen times Kenyan champions came into the match as favorites following their brilliant record against the tax collectors, having not conceded a single goal against them, leave alone losing against them.
Coach Ze Maria opted to rest defender Haron Shakava with former Tusker Man Luke Ochieng’ given a starting berth alongside regular Musa Muhammad with Jacques Tuyisenge, George Odhiambo and Meddie Kagere starting upfront.
Ken Kenyatta decided to name goalkeeper Shaban Odhoji between the posts with Aziz Okaka and Lamine Diallo also given a starting berth for Ushuru.
It was the visitors, who started well and could have taken a lead in the 4th minute after an early break, but Diallo was unable to put the ball in the back of the net as Boniface Oluoch correctly read his mind to put the ball out for a fruitless corner.
The visitors continued pressing for an opener with Okaka and Kennedy Oduor troubling in the wings, with Gor Mahia resorting to long balls. In the 17th minute, Okaka did well to beat Karim Nizigiyimana, but he could not find the target, and three minutes later, it was Oluoch, who was called into action once more as Diallo left three defenders for dead unleashing a shot which was tipped out for a corner.
That attack turned out to be a wakeup call for the hosts, who reacted by initiating several attacks notably Nizigiyimana’s attempts which unfortunately failed to yield fruits. In the 38th minute, Gor Mahia came close as they were rewarded a free-kick which was taken by Francis Kahata, but Meddie Kagere failed to connect.
Uncustomary, the champions looked the weaker of the two sides and once again Oluoch was called into action with five minutes to the break as he reacted fastest to deny Okaka from close range after a corner by Ushuru.
After the break, Baron Oketch was introduced in the place of disappointing Blackberry, with Innocent Wafula replacing Francis Kahata, with Ushuru bringing in Roosvelt Blaty in place of Erick mata.
In the 66th minute, Gor Mahia initiated a swift counter attack involving several players, but were let down by finishing as Wafula crossed the ball which missed Kagere. The champions continued pressing as Ushuru started playing cautiously, keen to get a point.
KāOgalo could have won it in the 80th minute as Amos Nondi cleverly played in Wafula. The attacker had all the time to set himself up but he could not hit the target as his shot went wide off the mark. Not even the six added minutes could enable either side to score.
Ushuru Starting XI: Shaban Odhoji, Jackton Onjala, Rodgers Ochieng, Fan Ngaira, Kelal Ogal, Maurice Odipo, Eric Mata, Philemon Otieno, Lamine Diallo, Kennedy Oduor, Aziz Okaka.
Subs: Barnabas Tiema, Evans Kiwanuka, Roy Okal, Roosevelt Blaty, Dennis Wafula, Oscar Mbugua, John Kiplang’at.
Gor Mahia: Boniface Oluoch, Karim Nizigiyimana, Eric Ouma, Musa Mohammed, Luke Ochieng, Ernest Wendo, Nondi Amos, Kahata Francis, Jacques Tuyisenge, Meddie Kagere, George Odhiambo.
Substitutes: Fredrick Onyango, Wellington Ochieng, Abouba Sibomana, Enock Agwanda, Antony Mbugua, Baron Oketch, Innocent Wafula.
Nkt! Try harder. Fight for every ball.
Omera tukilus ball next. Sasa taanza kufikiri Fanc Otis Wuod natal. Sisi bado sahau yeye. GO bul ok you. To litna.
All games are going to be tough from now henceforth. Ask Tusker, Ulinzi and Mathare. We are not going to win all matches like last year.
I see some of us complaining that some players started today yet we also said we didn’t want particular players to start. We can’t have our cake and eat it. The truth is tat between Gor, Tusker and Mathare on will win the league by the normal 60+/- 4 points.
Soon Walu and Gattuso will be back and we will continue winning
No 78 points like last year.
Seriously how does a normal coach train his players to turn a football pitch into a bedroom?pathetic tactics to keep sleeping on the ground jst to kill Gor’s momentum.fuo ngeny e ball kae manade?
Oh other teams are also drawing, ask Tusker and Mathare, oh give Ze Maria time to test all his formations, oh you plastic fans should leave and go and complain elsewhere, oh Walusimbi and Gatusso will soon come back, oh the coach knows what he is doing and should not be questioned. Well Walusimbi is not playing for reasons known to the EC and TB. Gatusso is around and fit but is not being played. Gor has conquered the last three and half season by playing two defensive minded midfielders but who am I to say so yet am not a coach? Last week I told you that tough times lay ahead unless something changes. The Yes men told me to wait for a win against Ushuru then shut up. Let me now wait for the win in the next game!!!! Ze Maria will deliver, he knows best!!!
Another draw against the minnows though I feel some players should not have started … Yajowa mambo ngumu this season!
Another opponent with zero ambition.Ushuru has never beaten Gor in any competition. ..let alone scored a goal.Yet from minute 1 they started wasting time.
No wonder such teams will always remain middle table teams..just there to make the numbers. The only thing they are good at is giving tax ultimatums! !!
Last wk I suggested GM Shuld play with two defensive midfielders & kahata bhnd the 2 strikers, atlleast I saw something similar bt I think it culd have bin beta if he had played gatusso, wendo & kahata(had a bad day) instead of wendo, kahata & beri /baron.All in all a poor show,I think the pressure is getting the beta of GM,Nzigy is also too casual & nearly all damages inflicated to us comes female crosses on the right, stool have a chance since tusker drew bt we really nid to improve, kibarua imeanza coach
the result is pathetic
@ oswozo today ushuru were beta than Gor, lst wknd homeboyz were beta than Gor, the wind B4 Thika were beta than Gor,we are either stagnant or we are declining. Let’s say the truth hata kama we ni plastic, metal mbao fan
Dan original and your colleagues who think that a draw is normal simply because other teams are also drawing need some prayers, just listen to yourself and you will know you have a problem. Last week I said that Kagere and Tuyisenge should not played together especially in the 4-4-2 formation, if Ze Maria wants to play them together then it must ie 4-5-1 with only one central striker because all of them will just be running around like headless chicken since all of them believe it’s not his responsibility to score. Tuyisenge was off colour in this game because of this arrangement and I sympathize with him. Tuyisenge can score goals but only if you make him a lone striker because he knows the burden is on him. We know he can do it, but in this arrangement kindly wake me up from my sleep when Tuyisenge scores.
Admin, please complete your update and post my comment. Stop buying time, we are vexed beyond comfortable limits.
@Musyomo and Ievelmind last week we were called plastic fans for pointing the obvious. Truth must be told where it’s due, there’s serious complacency creeping into the team, poor passing/marking/fielding. Why rest Gatusso and Walulwalu yet they are better players than the ones being fielded. Kama coach ako na personal differences with this two players we should know coz l feel something is fishy somewhere and this shouldn’t be settled ? at the team’s expense. Ata kama mmi sio coach but we need two holding midfielders in the team to create stability. l also think Wellington should be given a chance coz Nizigiyamana seems fatigued and he’s too casual with his passes ? of late. Where are the likes of recently recruited players like Odipo/Mbugua?? Omera EC and coach you guys should not take our fanatical following for granted coz it comes with alot of sacrifices to see us fill stadium. Today’s game too Pathetic awacho ayueyo tho!!
If a team comes to waste time or pack the bus, do you wait to draw or lose then complain of their negative tactics or do you also change tactics to win. That is what a coach is employed to do. So if all teams decide to play negative do we remain content to draw then complain. All right, Ushuru and Homeboyz wasted say 20 minutes of game time, why couldn’t we get goals in the 70 that was played?
Ze maria should now start with siboumana and push erick to foward left so as to create more chances upfront.Otherwise the tb should come clear on players selection because as per the last two matches a change is a must.
Poor football from the team in the first half. Second gave was slightly better. The coach should be blamed. Dies the coach has his first eleven? Every time he is changing the team as I’d he does not know the tear at all. People were complaining why Luke Ochieng was not being fielded. On my own judgement Luke Ochieng does not qualify even to put on the green or white jersey of Gor Mahia. The lad has no ideas at all and may be he lacks physical fitness. Players like Blackberry are not good enough to be wasting playing time in the pitch.
Jamigori, Luke Ochieng proved his worth since Gor never conceded in this game. We need his power and body size for a compact defence. Let the coach start him regularly.
Surely even if we say Ushuru players lay in front of their goal, it will change nothing. Ushuru could have scored at least 3 goals in first half had it not been for Bonny. The passes were pathetic, defence porous. In fact Bonny was overworked today.
@levelmind fan….have I lied about what I posted??did you really watch that game?I did not say Gor was the better team…I just gave my assessment of Ushuru which was open for all to see and collaborated by ze Maria himself! !
Sasa yawa wuod Maria. Saidia sisi ili wasikuwe Amodhi Fc. Akili nasachoka leo.
Admin, how long does it take to moderate my comment before posting it? A lot of comments have been posted after I typed mine. If the truth in it is so bitter, allow me air it in social media.
I was asking whether Marco Aurellio is a fitness trainer or a boxing activist. Well, it is obvious that the referee overlooked the handball in the Ushuru box and allowed mediocrity through useless stoppages and feigned injuries.
Do our midfielders understand their roles? Who delivers crosses apart from Marcello?
We were overwhelmed today, wacha ya Homeboyz. Have you ever heard of a boggey team? A small team that never yields to a particular big team? Does anybody remember Kisumu Posta against AFC Leopards? That is what I see this Ushuru thing becoming to Kogalo. Watch how they will lose their next match to another small team. Go slow my colleagues, it’s not easy. We are the same people who have been clamouring for the fielding of some players, now we are up against the coach when he’s given some a chance. Let’s accept, these matches are not going to be easy as some of us think.
@ja Thur GI ji , last week ‘we’ said that Wafula should be rested and Nondi starts and it was done. For those with weak hearts the league this season, though we still have a chance to win it ,will test our resolves. I believe the coach fields according to both mental and physical being of a player as well as the opponents. Gattuso and Walu are actually injured, Aucho is gone. So we will have to expect to see Wendo day in day out in the mid, same to Kahata and the rest. And why do we think we will just play with the same intensity and vigour when we play different teams? Some ‘small’ teams will always outplay us even if we defeat them.
All we should do as fans is to support the team, criticize as much as we can (positively of course). But I don’t expect someone who just watches our games on sunday to be able to make a lineup for the coach since that is a product of what happens the whole week.
We draw with a team of Ushuru’s calibre and now they are our bogey team? Then expect six or more bogey teams in the coming few matches. Wafula is the best winger Gor has at the moment in Walusimbi’s absence even with his wastefulness and indecisiveness. Individually Wendo and Kahata are excellent midfielders but their combination is imbalanced and is not working on the evidence of the last three matches. Wendo is exclusively defensive and Kahata exclusively offensive. We miss a hybrid box to box midfielder with excellent ball winning abilities in the mould of Kizito or Aucho.I wish Ze Maria could try pairing Wendo with
another defensive minded midfielder then play Kahata further
upfield or out on the wings where he made his name at Thika. Nondi and Baron need to have more impact. Ze Maria knows best and MUST have a free hand to select and field as he deems fit based on training. Our job as fans is to support including losses and draws!!!!
Walusimbi had a motor bike accident. On the other hand can we have our home games in Kisumu from 4pm weekends since the pitch is better.
Headless chickens? Becoming very true by each game, someone said it a while back and repeated it today. Did we even test ushuru goalkeeper? As usual we’ve stagnated and Yanga & Zesco are competing in the CAF champions league group stage while winning the local league is now a real challenge. Yes so long as AR is happy and EC is bloated isokei, Mara Gor Sacco, Gor Bread, Gor Lotto, Gor this and Gor that BUT WAPI GOR FOOTBALL WACHA TUPATIE ZE MARIA TIME BUT NA START KUMISS NUTALL!
Gor mahia water, Gor Mahia bus, Gor mahia fish, Gor Mahia Matumbo…….. Poo. Flight of business ideas devoid of sustainability plans
Jambita, what’s the news on Marco Aurellio?Ati fitness trainer Mara boxing activist. Explain the boxing part?Or did you mean Sandro Fantoni the Italian
Thanks Moses, it is Sandro Fantoni, not Marco Aurellio. Sorry for the wrong nomenclature.
It’s unfortunate to hear k.kenyatta say stoppages are part of techniques to disrupt opponents.I wonder why ze maria did not use it in the first half.most kpl teams facing GM,first try their luck and deploy negative football if overwhellemed.getting a draw from gor mahia is like a win to most teams. They leave the pitch head high like champions. Those who just hav feigned injury jump in celebration.regrettable.Teams that force Gm to a draw consider themselves tittle contenders.
@joods, with all due respect, it is the job of the coach to get a formula to overcome such disruptive tactics. He is the COACH period. You keep telling us thatour coach is a genius let him prove by being able to win even in such disruptive conditions. Kenyatta comes to play negative football, Ze Maria must show he is a class above by beating Ushuru with the samba we were promised. You tell us to give Ze Maria time to test all his formations, my brother the league is past midway the time for testing is gone. One centimetre passes and samba is bullcrap if it does not bring goals!!!
@Musymo, in the last two game, I did not see any Brazilian flair at all. Midfield is dead and no supply to strikers. At this rate, I do not see Gor Mahia winning the coming matches.
The coach appears not to have his first eleven. He is experimenting in every game and it is a matter of time for team to start losing the matches.
On point@jamigori. Something is amiss. While we are drawing with the likes of KK and Ushuru, Tusker has managed to beat Ulinzi and Mathare, two rival contenders. The midfield is not working and if you remember well when the Aucho saga first popped, myself, Ja Asego and a few others pointed out the need to find a like for like replacement. Ja Asego talked of a Pierot Kwizera from Burundi but the most popular retort we got was that the coach knows what he is doing nowthat the hens have come home to roost it looks more qnd more likely, he is as clueless as the most of them.
I was sincerely hope that ” the so called genius, what a coach “wuld be really technical.bt from his signings & failure to see 5 to 6 players are gud bt not gud enaf.what makes zesco play such an attractive futbal,i dnt think its money bt technical players. It is very easy to identify such a player e.
Heee you can’t win everyday ! In a game of football ,its three things ,win , draw ,or loose .having won the league three times in araw, yawa !!! We will be back to winning ways let’s support the team .we pray crispin Odula ICT can be processed intime .coz our mid is leaking .DO NOT BE MANY COACHES .
We Cant Blame Strikers Now Because, mid Dead, berry And Nondi Ineffective Throughout, kahata Was Not At His Best,we Had Only Six Player On The Fielder, what Result Do You Expect From That Game?,the Truth Of The Matter We Were Lucky To Get A draw.Ushuru Used Their Numerical Strength To The Maximum, but We Were Lucky To Have Bonny In The Goal.Wendo Keep It Up U Save Us Some Embarrassment.
Musymo, Tosh , Levelmind etc, Gor is not yours alone. Stop insulting everybody around. What do you gain by using such foul language against players and technical bench(especially coach) and all of us? Just because they drew? We are all affected, but we are the more level-minded if there is anything like that. These were draws and you are crying to the high hills!! The other teams drew as well, some were robbed in broad daylight. What if we had lost? The nature of foot ball is that some times you are tops, very high up there, other times you are average, yet other times you may be low, too low to believe. Do you pull down your house in the name of love for the team? Please let’s have criticism that is positive and helpful, that is if you really love your team.
YOU WILL BE COMING FOR MY NECK, PLEASE DO.
@jathur gi ji…..very well said.I agree with you totally.Nobody here is an authority in football matters. If they were, they would not be here in the first place!!
@ja thur gi ji. dont mind it is the pot calling the kettle black.by the way has any noted how okewkanango takes the gor result.he is hurt but does not take it personal..he makes me feel like next time gor wil win.those who take it like a matter of life and death will never uplift a conered army to fight anotherday but see only defeat and like samurai theydont encourage working hard for another day but only to comitsuicide.therewere players who were downlike kahata thisdoesnot make hmabad player.
Kuomi. Wewe naonanga hata mandisi ya ngato nono.
I wont come for your neck because you have the right to post what you think. Secondly, could you please point out where someone has used foul language in this thread?. Who claimed they are more Gor than you? Who has said they are experts in football matters? Our midfield has not clicked in the last three matches , in God’s name what is wrong in pointing that out? If you read my comments you will see they are full of positive criticism. Problem is when you do that, you are told you are not an expert. Forgive me but I will never pretend that we are doing fine based on how we have played the last three games. You dont have to see it the same way. I will respect your opinions but allow me to air mine too!!
@jathur gi ji, sorry to back so soon but if you could spare time from your schedule please log into Futaa.com and read what other fans are saying about the team, the coach, his team selection and tactics on other platforms.. Will make for very distressing reading for you I believe. They are not more Gor than you and me. They are just concerned ‘citizens’
@Jathur gi ji, what insult?,the term what a genius coach was coined by @kibalka & u were not offended then, why,we were winning.this is the problem with us fans/ec,we overluk our weakness coz we are winning.if you are honest with yourself,we have players with poor ball control.how is it an insult to wish that gor plays like zesco or even beta.i said some players are gud bt not gud enaf to take gor to the nxt level of being a powethse in africa.no offemce intended.
@Jathur gi ji we are enlightened and we cannot stoop to low to start abusing others here infact it was OG who called me, Musymo and levelmind plastic fans for simply pointing the obvious. Ukweli ni kwamba mid is dead, we have complacency from some players, poor ball control and poor fielding from the coach how does that amounts to abuse bro. We are simply reasoning straight and not with emotions attached to our reasoning please. As witnessed even from almost all bloggers they are not happy not because they hate the team but because they feel something ? is amiss in team and they will not bury their heads in the sand to please a few. lf this amounts to abuse so be it lakini team/Coach/EC something must be done ASAP coz l’m foreseeing the level of attendance going down at the Stadium. What the likes of Jathur gi ji must realize is that we also understand we have 3 results in a match but even if you lose you can be satisfied with the effort displayed by the team na useme kwa kweli tumepoteza lakini tumejaribu but that’s not the case now. Either we under rate other teams ama sijui ni nini..
Can some bloggers spare us the selective convenient amnesia they are displaying here. What can be more foul than calling a sitting coach ” a Politician ” We have not forgotten how post match analyses then were done sarcastically. It was said that they were tired of boring football. So now with the pathetic display, people are selective on what to say.
This is the second game drawn, what’s the big deal? We all saw how bad it was, the technical bench saw it, I have read futaa.com, but what sense does it make repeating a thousand times
Fellow bloggers, thank you for your thoughts concerning our performance in the last two games. I share the same feelings with you but do believe that all is not lost. Though I am not supper on the tactical bit of football, according to my assessment I think our main problem lies in the midfield. With the improvement Zemaria has made in the teams display, I have faith in him. He will fix this! We signed a midfielder by the name Odula, i’m anxiously waiting to see his impact once he comes on board. I wouldn’t blame the coach for the two draws coz I believe he is more interested in winning than all of us. Guys, let’s urge our team on even in defeat, that’s the nature of competition!
Ooh Laa la…. ……Let me thank Bonnie for that 1 point gained and especially the one on one situation that he twice thwarted against Lamine Diallo.
Back to you JO-PLASTIC None other than @ musymo deemed AUCHO and I wonder why he is shouting the loudest about mediocre midfield. Musymo you have forgotten to swallow your own wordings “AUCHO OCHAM NYANJE”. Now the busybodies are yelling to us about BOX to BOX.
Ze Maria granted your wish in yesterday line up and the results were pathetic. Am surprised that the same WAFULA that K’Ogalo nation crucified last week is today being referred as the most preferred winger.
The performance is so painful such that you guys are even demanding for injured players like WALUSIMBI and GATUSSO to be fielded. cool down guys and relax.
I together with others read Musymo’s comment about Aucho and I think it meant that you cannot have your cake and eat it. This was all about the foreign quarter. If only we could be objective in our views. But anyway Aucho had a habit of not reporting for training as expected. What is wrong with pointing that out?
Ogango Trailer, if its not amnesia then you will remember that my reference to Aucho chamo nyanje was that he goes for trials, fails and comes back to find the transfer window closed. It has no relation with our weak midfield that we are bemoaning right now. If there is any relevance of that statement to our pathetic displays in the last 3 matches you are welcome to show me. Secondly, without Walusimbi, kindly tell me which winger has a better impact than Wafula, from Berry to Nondi to Omino to Baron. You have watched all of them in several games I suppose. Thirdly , do you know what
a box to box midfielder is? If you did you would not call anybody
talking about that in reference to Gor’s midfield a busybody. But
then again its not the first time someone was given too much
credit. If you want to respond to my posts please do it with
SUBSTANCE not emotional outbursts. If you read this post carefullyyou will understand what I mean.
Back to the “goon” label. Is the Italian fitness trainer a “goon” or what did I see. I am just asking coz this was the vocabulary here.
you cannot win every single game you GOR MAHIA FANS , in foot ball there are three things , a win , adraw , or loose .we will be Back to winning ways , i dont see the wrong thing with coach giving other players oportunity to play , its up to them to prove to the coaches their abilities to win the staring bath .the league is too open , if its not for the docked points , we had already taken the summit , some stuff just happening in the sport pesa premier league , Dubious penalties , wrong calls , match fixing ,this team has won the league three times in arow , what have you done to motivate them . we lead by example , not live with example . STOP PANICKING !
Bloggers we dint have Aucho in the first TOP 8 SEMIFINAL AGAINST TUSKER ! and we out played TUSKER IN ALL THE DEPARTMENT , can you people go to the drawing BOARD !!!! WE WON THE GAME BY TWO GOALS TO NOTHING IN THE ABENCE OF AUCHOOOOOOO ! this is not the tyme of FLAVIAH , ETI KAMA Ssherenkuma HAYUKO HAKUNA Goaaal . there is Crispin Odula for Khalid Aucho . keep cool .
@maurizio, Aucho is a variable, Gor is a constant. It does not have to Aucho but someone to add some spine to that midfield which is not too bad but can be made better. Now that we cannot find a solution from without the coach has to make do with the available options. The sooner he gets the right mix, the better for everyone. Let us give him time to test all his formations till he gets the correct one!!!
@musymo now you are SPOT ON. We are in a catch22 situation and the coach has his job well cut out. The sooner he finds his way out and delivers good result the better for the club and it stakeholder. Ze Maria will have to do with what he has at his disposal and accept the reality that teams have changed tact to counter his winning streak. LET HIM DO HIS JOB AJD WE SEE HOW HE CAN HANDLE PRESSURE, ESPECIALLY WHEN THE TITLE IS SLIPPING AWAY.
Tibim. Sasa Musyom anakuwa coch WAngu kama coch Jasego. Naona achambua kama Jasego. Omera Varible costant no to bado sikia tena. Lakini ngato nono hapana ngangananga na izo.
Congratulations Bonnie Jagoal for saving the team from a Big Embarrassment!
Once upon a time we had out “Politician” who promised us to win the League. The “Politician” had what he used to call “The Winning Team”. True to his words, “The Winning Team” won us trophy (ies) back to back.
Fast forward, and now we have the “tactical” “Ze Maria”. Similar to his predecessor, he promised us the League, further more, he promised a “nice football”. We have had a glimpse of it, yes we’ve had a glimpse of the “Samba football”. The League is so close to an end but yet so far, but we still believe it can be won, even with the team selection and the tactical display we have recently witnessed. After all the Coach knows best.
Shakava not at least being put on the bench, no one knows about the whereabouts of Walusimbi except for the few rumours we are reading from some with no clear dependable source, even if Gattuso has an injury (I really doubt though), an explanation or even just a briefing from a “reliable” source should at least calm the nerves of the so many curious fans, even if they appear so plastic.
It doesn’t sound so cool to criticize a player so harshly but now what will a ” plastic fan” say if a player stops concentrating in playing ball game and starts concentrating in chewing ball gum the whole 96 minutes? Surely there is nothing wrong about it but is there anything right about repeating the same mistake thrice ‘mfululizo’ clearing the ball outside the field three times when one is absolutely alone, not marked, not under any pressure. Luke Ochieng ‘is a good player who has to be very serious. Bonnie helped us not to conceeed a goal.
The match ended and it was blame games all round,. And by the way, something else about our beloved “Politician”, even though he might not come back, hardly would he at any time got seduced into the mentality of blaming the refferee after a team’s poor display. I think with our collective plasticity (or whatever it might be) this is what we can call being a tactical prowess. If they decide to waste time, let them pay for it by getting all the little chances into the back of their net! That is one of the biggest qualities of a Tactical Coach. Convert their game plan to be their own weakness.
A fellow plastic fan last week aired his/her rightful view that “Baron Oketch who we seem to love WILL soon fade away in form” That is a statement I can confidently say has “future hopelessness”.I’m not sure how true this is, but why can’t we put aside this future hopelessness and put forward the present hopefulness by giving him more playing time before he “fades away “?
One good thing I observed from the Coach, one inspiring thing that kept lighting up lots of hopes in me, was the concern which was very clearly written all over his face, and he must have been frustrated by some poor football display, by some individual players, so that gives me every right to as well air my frustrations and observations, and it doesn’t make me anything kind of a plastic fan.
The Italian guy, the physical fitness trainer, thank you for observing the unfair officiating and time wasting that was never penalised, but on the other side, I really hope you had earlier on observed the clumsy, out of depth display and fatigue in the players, and hopefully you are doing some things about it, a lot of things.
Congratulations for holding on to a draw.
To me we played very bad football on Sunday. Bonnie truly proved his experience and courage. Without blaming the coach but putting things the way i saw it..
The team selection might have been bad. I think the midfield had nothing to offer until Wafula and Oketch were brought in.
It appears to me there was wastage in playing both Meddie and Ja Usenge together in this game.
I may not know how to field better but this last sunday playing both strikers was not effective at all.
For sure how do you explain why Black berry had almost zero effect in the entire time he played?
How do yo have Kahata giving nothing at all up to substitution?
Truly games are going to be difficult but as the saying goes ‘when the going gets tough the tough gets going’. It is time to pull up socks.
I am at peace with the squad rotation, it shows courage in the tech bench. I am also for the idea of letting all players having their chances..if anything we would not be celebrating ‘Marcelo’.
I am not missing Nuttall, Ze Maria has his chance , after him there will be another one and life continues..
I believe last Sunday Oketch, Bonnie, Wendo and Musa Mohammed were the toast of the day for GM. Luke Ochieng should have more playing time, he has good timing, reads opponents moves well and has eye on the goal during set pieces, he is a good player we can not afford to destroy as some people here think. Let us identify talent and encourage it! Actually we have very few defensive talents in this country and Luke is one of them.
I am impressed especially with Barron Oketch he is a player to watch in future.
KIDI KIPDI
With due respect, the team played out dated football and this was witnessed with the mid fielders.
The defence was good but the main let down were the mids.Coaches are spending a lot of time with the players and we are failing to understand why they should insist in fielding in effective players who shows nothing in their entire playing time until they are substituted. This was a very pathetic football game the team has ever played.
