Gor Mahia kickoff league campaign

Gor Mahia will try to put aside their dismal start to the season when they take on Chemelil Sugar at Moi Stadium Kisumu on Wednesday as they shift focus to the local scene. It was a devastating loss to CNaPS. Gor Mahia appeared not to have studied their opponents and often appeared too listless to defend against the marauding wingers from CNaPS. But against Chemelil they will be facing a familiar opponent. One that they handily beat in 2015, winning 3-1 and 4-1 in the first and second leg respectively.

But this is a different Gor Mahia side. Gone is Michael Olunga, Ali Abondo and Meddie Kagere. Gor Mahia will now need to depend on Jacob Keli and Enock Agwanda and George Odhiambo whose performance on Saturday was unimpressive. Both Keli and Blackberry were substituted. Fans will be hoping that Keli does not turn out to be another Ezekiel Odera type. Odera was signed from KCB after having been the second leading scorer in the 2010 league. He was expected to fit in the shoes of Blackberry who had just left for Denmark. By the end of the first leg he had only scored one goal. He was a key reason why Gor Mahia’s 2011 season was disappointing.

Nevertheless Keli has proven that he has the temperament to play under pressure as he has scored crucial goals for the national team. He also scored against St George of Ethiopia.

Unfortunately for Kogalo fans, newly signed Jacque Tuyisenge will not be available either as he is injured.

“He traveled back to Rwanda to nurse his injury, a groin injury but we understand it is not a serious one. He is expected back anytime soon and if all goes well he will start light training sessions. The team needs him now, but we are again worried if he will adapt quickly and help us,” said an official to goal.com

Can I bet a win for Gor?Three loses will be disastrous

Gor fans just need to clam down. A bad start does not mean anything much. There is nothing in the club to indicate that a collapse is imminent. Gor will peak soon enough. Gor however must start playing more technical than the strategies Nuttal has used before. The vs Bandari game showed good indicators albeit with unfit players. After watching the CHAN Rwanda show I can confidently state that Kenyan players and Coaches are basically comedians. Those teams in CHAN could have easily cleaned Harambee stars plus all it’s so called professionals anyday.

Kahata and Wafula are urgently needed in this game but we hope that Cnaps game was an eye opener to our beloved players

I hold the view that you better have problems and sort them out sooner rather than later. I remember Enrique was to be ejected from Barca 2014 Dec. Now how are his stats like? This is a storm that will pass.

  • i can foresee real threat emanating from kakamega homeboyz and posta rangers. these minnows are playing to erase the ‘big cat’ statistics that evolved in their absence. any fellow out there who knows the date when we are cleansing ingo and his ingwe?

Good Luck Kogallo ! some of this pre-season setbacks can be overcome and wont be surpised if we pull a string of 5 games unbeaten matches including hammering CNAPS 3-0 at home.

Meanwhile David Ochieng Cheche is having trials at kariobangi sharks. Some players yajowa need advice !!! and some of this silly agents who go around calling themselves as football agents need to be banished for life . player abuse and wastage is rampant in Kenya.

I actually reasoned that Cheche, Oliech and Olunga et al should have had local contracts with KPL teams just in case things go hay-wire abroad. Now Cheche’s hope is only if Nick manages to do a Nyamweya and get Sharks to play in the top division. Otherwise even his place in HS will not be guaranteed

FANS! FANS! FANS! you need to tone down. our comments everywhere is not helping the course of this team. We need level-headedness like now. How many times do we need to be told to stop digging if we are in a hole. We have lost matches because either we were not better prepared or God wanted to test us of which we failed the test. Were we peaceful last year because things were going our way? Even Olunga and Kagere who blossomed started the year on a very bad note. Remember Olunga mssing the penalty during our whipping by Dynamos of Zim. We still went ahead and won. As far as I know Keli will give us more goals just like the two so long as the team settles down and provides him as it should. Giving Keli and Jowi aerial balls yet they are height-challenged. But on speed they are faster than the duo who left.
By the way what is Aondo doing down South yet the transfer window was closed? Is it true that he was yet to be offered a new contract by Gor?

Meanwhile let’s stop putting tension on the playing unit as well as the EC. The moment we start winning our short memories will forget about all these challenges and start singing praises of individuals

Meanwhile Nuttal was detained at Serena for a debt of 250k. I think Nutttal should swallow his pride and move to a house. Nbi houses are very nice even for ambassedorial standards. Even rich companies like BAT or KBL are very carefull when it comes to expenses. Kilimani or Nyari are high std neighbourhoods and if the Nbi Governor offered that hse then why not move in. Otherwise the tension will soon be on him once the goons are done with the EC.
