Gor Mahia loose peace cup on penalties
Gor Mahia lost the inaugural Kibunja Peace Mission cup 6-5 on penalties to arch rivals AFC Leopards in a match played at Nyayo Stadium on Saturday. The match was attended by Prime Minister Raila Odinga and FKF chairman Sam Nyamweya. The ‘Peace’ match is organised by the National Cohesion Committee and is aimed at helping promote peaceful co-existence among communities ahead of the General Election. It is a lucrative fixture with the winner walking away with Sh1.2 million. The loser will earn a Sh250,000 appearance fee,
Whereas AFC fielded two new signings, Gor Mahia stayed with their existing players. The first half was balanced. Dan makori and Demonde Selenga both came close for Gor Mahia.
In the second half, coach Anaba Awono introduced Moses Odhiambo, Chris Wekesa and Moses Otieno. Odhiambo came close with a well taken shot. But neither team could find the back of the net.
Both teams scored the first 5 spot kicks. Gor Mahia scored through Collins Okoth, Ivan Anguyo, Moses Odhiambo, John Kiplagat. Kogalo missed the last two Moses Otieno saw his shot sail wide while Chris Wekesa’s shot was saved.

LOOK: AA DOES NOT WAVE A MAGIC WAND
Congratulations Ingwe for winning the inaugural Kibunjia Peace Cup.
To K’ogalo, there must be winners and loosers in any competition. Yesterday was not our day.
I am suprised this site has gone quite. The usual suspects are coming to terms with the reality that coach AA is just like all other coach. He has earned his first defeat just after he was named as coach. While i do not want to sound like I am quitely celebrating his defeat on his first assignment, this was what we were to show our colleagues in the other side our club divide.
They accused ZD on all manner of things; fieldind, formation, tacktics name it. They never believed K’ogalo never loose a match. How ridiculous!
Comrade Mwakio, Oduor12, jb, creative village, papamicky, joeriaga and their ilk came together on this blog to hound ZD out of office. our past is not behind us.
What do you say about yesterday,s AA first defeat on his first assignment?
@pareyio ole lelerue, I think you are too petty. However, I hope you saw Kiplagat terrorising AFC defence and it was only leopards goalkeeper that stopped our strikers from scoring. pareyio ole lelerue, you are too possed with ZD, may be if he is the reason of your support for /or, you may as well join him in Sony to witness further career destructions.
Mwakio
Terrorising or not, what matters in all compedition are the scores and that’s what my bro parejo is trying to say this is the first lose under AA.
By the way where was K.Omondi&Lavatsa?
P Ole L,You obviously don’t attend GM matches and r making ignorant observations.K’galo is playing gud soccer under AA. What we nid is too beef up the attacking midfield,Rama, and get our strikers to bury the defence spliting passes, non existent under ZD, n i know Kip n Lavasta will improve. Not to mention Mugalia n Rwandese Kagere may be joining. So tuliza boli wacha wasi wasi na fitina!
Pareyio Ole Lelerue why are we still talkin about ZD? That conversation is tired and has been overtaken by events, move on! I guess maybe you didnt watch that game thats why this is the kind of comment you are able to post. Our players played well and it was a very entertaining match compared to how we’ve been playing before. I’d rather we talk about how we played and urge our players on rather than dwell in the past. No one said we’d never loose under AA but to me that was a dignified loss unlike the ones we suffered under congo utd or city stars last season.
Bring on mugallia , kagere the rwandese , moses arita and situma . am am sick and tired of wasted chances and opportunities. Gor mahia can not just allow this to happen bearing in mid we did not score enough goals the whole season !!!! kiplagat and selenga have a lot of questions to answer though a lack of a creative midfielder is partly to blame.
Pareyio you have always sounded like you are a little older and wiser. I’m starting to think differently. Zico is gone.
Great game. AFC and their overrated mzungu will soon see fire. The guys camped for weeks and had two of the most talked about strikers in Kenya who never even tested poor Jerim.
Great game.
Creative Village
We had a good game,Afc trained for 2 wks,They hv two good strikers and Poor Jerry was not tested HAHAHAA, Nani alipewa 1.25M.Let us look for good strikers this was our main undoing last year.We were the third least scored against team but we hv already bought 2 goalies and i beg to ask what for?4 Gor forever.
@Ja Ngere. Stop fooling yourself and note that ZD is gone for good. May be you can join him in Sony but stop being comical and a stooge of former coach. Please note tha AA is far much better than ZD like it or not.
Team,
Some of these sentiments need no reaction as they dont add any value to the team.crying over zd will not change anything at the moment and being seen to be celebrating gor’s failure will not stop us from supporting the team.Lets be realistic in our postings as some of our wishes will not be realized any time soon coz we all know who the coach is and his track record so far.
INGWEEE is more SUPERIOR than kor and ul agree if at all you watched that game jana. lets meet next season.
@creative village, to you KOOPS is overrated?? sina la kusema
@pereyio am sickened by your comment on the issue of the coach i feel he will come good infant i cant blame anyone except the EC why did we have to appear for this event for a paltry 250000 gor should set a good fee for appearance for any cause infact it should be 1.5m look at what the Ghanaian team demanded this was no loss as for zedekia with certificate of attendances of coaching seminars let him go to sonny i feel our players were already in resting mood and some key players were missing i feel awono should be the one signing players the chelsea style is out dated i did not watch the match but am happy for all kogallo family wish you merry xmas and a fabulous new year kindly we need season tickets
mr. bwana i braved the rain to queue you in please i am feeling very little of your work anywhere these areas needs urgent attention please
1. ticketing

3.official club mouthpiece
4.marketing of our matches in local media to encourage and educate fans
5. strict ,informed accounting of funds manpower, fans, and everything
finally what happened to bloggers branch launch?
JB, apart from spirited efforts by a few to do something concrete bloggers branch is really struggling to take off. Can the interim secretary give us an update, however disappointing it may be!
JB, i hear you the issues you have raised are pertinent and should be addressed urgently. Please Bwana, Faiz and Jaber Machon, do something.
At the end of the day it is the results that matter. Let us not hide under the umbrealla of formations, tactics etc. The fact is AA has started on a wrong note. Loosing his first match as the head coach. I can assure you, this coach will not last in Gor. Let him lose 2 more matches, and you will see the guns out. Dont be surprised the anti-ZD group will now be calling ZD back. That has been the trend in Kogallo. The pressure is too much that even a good tactian like AA with good players like Ezekiel Odera cannot perform.
I think the likes of Bwana, Faiz are now realising that leading Gor looks easir from outside than inside. I am watching.
@Mwakio, where do you get the powers from, to expell critics . I thought you did not seek any position in the just concluded elections. Ama umekuwa official through back door. Hatuendi Sony, we in Gor to stay. For God and my club Kogallo.
