Gor Mahia pip Bankers
In a match played at the City stadium on Sunday, Kogalo were made to fight yet again before they managed to beat KCB with yet another 1-0 win. The all important goal was scored by veteran Solomon Nasio on 43 minutes. Tony Onyango provided the all important pass to Nasio after a flowing move.
New signing Edwin Lavatsa gave the bankers a torrid time with his whiplash speed and incisive runs. Wycliffe Opondo almost put Kogalo 2 goals ahead on 67 minutes but his effort was foiled by the KCB custodian.
KOgalo are now in 3rd position with 10 points. However goals seem hard to come by and the finishing seems blunt. Coach Zico must put extra work on the teams finishing.
On another note, the action by a fan to bring an ODM banner was despicable. Kogalo is an apolitical team and has fans from every ethnic group and every political party. It is not affiliated with any political party. Such are the kind of actions that hinder the club from gaining sponsorship. Fans should police such actions by ejecting fans who try to make overt political statements.
On a positive note, attendance for this match was amazing. City stadium was filled to the rafters. Even the standing room section behind the goals was filled. Why cant the city of Nairobi build a few new terraces ? Its really not that expensive.
A job well executed by our mighty team though it appears that our attack is not sharp enough to kill off the game because our win margin was very small.
OUR GOD IS GOOD OH. GOR WON BY THE NARROWEST OF MARGINS AGAIN, INGWE LOST. GOR STILL NOT PLAYING THE MOST ATTRACTIVE SOCCER, USUAL SUSPECTS SHOULD IMPROVE MOST OF MIDFIELD AND FRONTLINE CO-ORDINATION.IS WATCHING THE MATCH FROM RUSSIAN WAS NOT INTERESTING AS ONE COULD NOT VIEW THE MATCH PROPERLY. CLEARLY K’GALO FANS ARE TOO MANY FOR THEIR FAVOURITE STADIUM. KUDOS FOR TURNING OUT IN STYLE AS USUAL
oh oh oh our God is good Oh……OH OH OH our GOR is GOOD oh . . .should be included in gor songs
THEIR ARE TIMES IN SOCCER WORLD WHEN WINNER IS THAT TEAM WITH MORE GOALS WITH GOR GETTING POINTS N ECONOMIC GOALS TEMS LIKE TUSKER CAN CAPITALISE ON THIS N RUN AWAY WITH KPL 2011 TROPHY ZICO MUST KNOW THIS.
Twas good wo won ..for most of the match though i was worried about the fielding but thank God we won..lets now focus on Mathare in the super eight on wednesday..
that was marvelous when we hit top form the whole league will run scared…by the way where can i buy a top quality Gor Jersey pliz let me knw where to buy one…kudos GOr
We won, good that the points are bagged bit by bit, but there might come a time when it wont be so sweet but bitter. All the same as fans you should prepare for some bad moments; thats the time the boys need you most, thats the time you should sing and cheer loudest. Its team game and we supporters are an integral part of it all.Cheers but playing Lavatsa 90 minutes takes something out of him which isn’t good; same to Makori.
Just like I wanted it we have won 2 games out of the three one more to go. Keep it up. Let the boys open up space quickly when they have the ball this kind of anticipation was wanting more so when we had the chance to break. Someone tell where is Moses odhiambo the chap we got from APR Rwanda the guy has good touches, the last i saw of him was in that ill fated match against Rangers
Moses Odhiambo is injured
Th writer of this article or report should stop lying to us about the sponsorship. Ngala and Arrum should stop lying to fans. We are bored and tired with such political antitones. Why do these inept and useless officials have to report ODM on this site? It is not ODM that has prevented Gor Mahia from getting the sponsor(s). If Ngala, Arrum, Colonel, Ataro have nothing to post on this site, they should desist from writing their garbage or daptrap in this site. We have all the facts and we all know where the problems are coming from. The naked truth is that the current office bearers are not interested in getting sponsorship for the club.
Moses Odhiambo will be back hopefully on Wednesday against Mathare or On Saturday City stars.
@Riaga and Oluoch thanks for the info, we need this guy back coz he can hold the ball well and make good moves that has been a major let down in connecting with the striking force.
Oti, it appears you know more about Gor Mahia. Why is that the coach Zico does not want to field Kitawi, Owiti and Wekesa? The coach appears to have some wrong motives on these three players. It is a matter of time and very soon we will start to demand for the where-abouts of these three players. Coach should learn to appreciate all Gor Mahia players and must stop victimising of players. All these three players are Gor Mahia players.
jokogera,i agree with you,we are very good at moving the ball from defence to midfield but no link between midfield and attack.
Got home last evening and found my two year old girl singing the K’ogalo anthem with a Gor flag. Yenye Gor ni Sirkal coz have never heard sing the Kenya National Anthem.
It was good to win striking force should be polished we r heading to right direction am happy coz the squad tried there best kudos to Akumu.
Am happy that we are going back to our winning antics. The problem is still with the striking force,I think Zico should do something sooner or latter coz we won’t be happy to see the trophy go in the hands of other opponents simly because of goal difference.kudos to Akumu, you made me proud
Tusker, watch our space coz we are coming.Meanwhile super Eight is our first trophy
Someone please tell me why Masika is not playing for Harambee? I know talent when I see one. This guy is a raw talent, he is a modern day defender! very confident on the ball who agrees with me? Teddy is very good too that we always know! but Masika is excellent (orthodox kicks, timely interceptions always heads the high balls and fouls less above all he is very agile so far this season he is the man who has been very consistent
Erico Masika is better than Edgar in defence. Erico is very mobile and too fast as compared to aging Edgar/Owino. I wonder what the Harambee Stars coach is looking for in defence. This lad is far much better than Shikokoti, Edgar, Owino etal. This is a prove that we do not have a coach both in Gor Mahia and Harambee Stars. Erico should even be in the first eleven. To Erico, just work hard and I know one day you are going to make it.
Ja-Usigu come slow am happy with the current officials they av done us proud.mark u,they av already secure sponsorship for 2 yrs it was romours but i can confirm it is true.give officials space they av done there part.to my fellow fans let support our club as always.badala ya soda we should av vendors of TUZO products in all both away and home matches.kudos TUZO.
@Paul, all I know is I have not seen such an agile defender in this league I just didn’t want to name names but u r right on point I feel the same way! The young man is good he needs a chance but the coach who apparently coaches Harambee is blind!
We do need a consistent first eleven.Making five changes to a team all the time isn’t healthy.Tony Onyango has shown some great improvements.I was surprised to see Duncan Owiti sitting next to me in the stands, twas so disappointing. That boy is a super sub.Kitawi is our most creative midfielder, why give Opondo the nod over him? Team rotation is not bad but we need a consistent first team.Lavatsa is so far more lethal than Ngwa. He’l make a good partnership with Kevo.Let’s see what line up we get this evening @ Nyayo.
Kogallo fans, some of you make me laugh sometimes. Who has the proof that Zico is victimising some players? What is this craziness with Kitawi. Yes he is a good player but he is yet to regain his old form. Once he picks his form, he will be fielded. Players attend training every day and it is out of this sessions, that a coach comes up with his starting lineup. Why should Kitawi and the rest be fielded when the dont respond positively to training. Otherwise there would be no need for players to train. They would simply meet on the match day and players fielded based in thier past form. Kindly respect the coach and give him time. Fans cannot dictate which players to be fielded. Its the technical bench. Period!
@ja-usigu, so long as the team is delivering keep ya cool and let zico do his work! The league has just started and am sure the likes of kitawi will have a role to play. @ paul, you are right brother masika should be given a chance together with makori, lavatsa and gattusso in harambee stars!
It is out of these positive criticisms that Zico has brought Kitawi back to the team. We are now waiting for Duncan Owiti, Okal, Mariga etal.
KOGALO FANS LETS NOT BLAME ZEDY AND PLAYERS TOO MUCH MANAGEMENT IS ALSO TO BE BLAMED WHEN ARE THEY MEETING WITH THE TEAM TO DISCUSS ISSUES LEADERSHIP IS NOT ABOUT BEING A BOSS YOU HAVE BE A SAVANT OF PEOPLE
RACHIER AND THE REST BE CLOSURE TO THE TEAM AND TALK TO THEM WE DONT WANT QUARALLS AT THE PITCH.
players also shuold have respect collins behaviour is not of a player who have future in soccer how do you expect to play well without listening to the coach
Gor is amovement if he is not satisfered with gor he should leave
you guys mko up in the clouds love you big time.chafueni hao watu but ikue a clean game.behind you a 100%.go! go! go!
