Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia have completed the signing of a third Western Stima player all in the current transfer window.

After completing moves for Kelvin Oluoch and Dan Onyango, a source confirmed to futaa.com that K’Ogalo has made another swoop, this time for goalkeeper David Juma, as a replacement for Ivo Mapunda who left for samba SC.

Two year deal

-The keeper has already signed a two year deal with Gor Mahia and is just set to go back there to complete his clearance. He will be Mapunda’s replacement, the source close to the Gor Mahia management informed futaa.com.

At the same time, former Western Stima defender David Otieno who joined Gor Mahia at the start of the 2013 season is said to be on his way out.

Exactly @ Jakoyo especially after the caveat ” IS JUST SET 2 GO BACK & COMPLETE HIS CLEARANCE “. Probably he’s another contracted player but let’s hope 4 the best.
Now just my observation but it seems the bloated EC does not meet. In addition to the election of officials by rotation I suggest that 3 branches randomly selected @. the AGM serve as strictly ex-officio members(through either their chair/vice chair/secretary) just 2 witness that MAJOR transactions r done @ THE & BY THE OFFICE.

Thats going to be the weakest spot in the team if thats the signing we have made. It appears to be a desperate move to beat deadlines. If I remember well last season he was not a regular for W Stima and I have never seen any special qualities in this guy.But this is Gor Mahia, we will accept and move on.

I read with lots of pain and shame the comments by Mapunda on why he had to make his quick exit. Surely this is a guy whose heart was and still is with Gor,but see the mess in the EC made him to quit.Who would not do the same with such comical EC? In any case it appears that we did not even know between him and Jerry who should have been number one.I wish you well Ivo as you wear the Simba shirt as much as I would have loved to continue seeing you in Kogalo.Again we have accepted and moved on.

Guys, we need to encourage those who have joined us. I know we have so many ‘coaches’ in the team but let’s leave all this to the TB. Why do we complain that so and so is not a good signing yet we don’t even know if they were sighted by the TB who after all I have not heard compalaining about these signings. Some of our comments are so unfortunate. For our info we fans are also making the EC and TB job of getting the best players to be hard. The current KPL players are gdigital and read these bloga and discuss the issues. So for that reason you will rarely get a player to leave the top teams to come to GM unless they are frastrated by their coaches like Pinches was.
All the same let’s wait for the TB to complain before we start rating the new signings.

Gentlemen let us give the new players a chance. Ei Gor ka we fans tend to suffer from fear of the unknown. very recently I remember reading similar sentiments about Kevin Oluoch, but the boy proved himself when given a chance. Not so long ago someone in the blog ridiculed the signing of Eric Ochieng from Bandari, but did we not see the re-incarnation of John Okello Zangi in the boy? I think it is high time we realized that there is someone in the Gor Mahia Tech Bench who has an eye for uncut diamonds. Besides, Gor Mahia is always known for creating stars out of nothing, so let us worry not. Let us take Owino Vincent Odhiambo’s word for he seems to know this goalie better.

Dan Original you are the most optimistic of us all; ODUOR 12 by any other name is the most pessimistic but then I have come to realize that to some extent his comments have not been all empty talk after all.The way this EC has handled some of these transfers is too embarrassing to say the least.By saying we accept and move on it does not mean we condone their ineptitude, where they are wrong we will continue to point out, thats why we are here.

On the other hand am very happy and congratulations to them all that they have chosen to camp in Loitoktok, far away from the city. That will probably make a difference as compared to what Ingwe is doing bragging about their signings; they were done, really done in Zanzibar.

I also don’t believe in giving a cold shoulder to any new comer, but this is a forum for opinions.
Never will this site turn or be turned into an exclusive platform for praising the EC and others deemed exclusive by some of our members, NO.

Truly many of us expected a replacement of Ivo to be of a grade comparable to the same class in benchmarking.

No,i am not the first person to have mentioned Bonny from Tursker but it doesn’t have to be Bonny anyway, yet Juma is welcome. Ja thur gi ji is therefore more than right to castigate the signing of Juma based on the class exhibited by Ivo performance wise compared to what Juma was at Western Stima..what’s the problem with that?

It means we are at a wait and see as opposed to a ready made performer..that is the difference, but still one of us asking questions does not become a villain for thinking independently, especially with facts like what was he(Juma)at Western Stima, what specialty is he bringing as a replacement? These are quantifiable issues?

Actually my brother JTGT, do not feel kept down by people who feel any time you raise a finger you are supporting Dr. Adede, as if he (Adede) is some lesser human being. Do not as well fear being branded anything or any name, not even being called a know all should keep you feeling ashamed and embarrassed to show up.We are not and can not be mouth pieces of anyone so as to type things the way some people feel and believe.. as long as you feel there is something to type go on.

Kassam you are right. Ja Thur gi ji too has backed his position with a valid fact yawa and as you say it is a wait-and-see kind of situation. At the end of the day it is a win-win situation for us all. Dr. Adede has done what most of us are not courageous enough to do: vie for a position in Gor. We cannot and should not crucify him for exercising his democratic right. At the end of the day it the voters that will decide. It is therefore not right for people to be demonized on the mere suspicion that they are aligned to this or that candidate. Kassam cool down brother, I have never read you so worked up like this. Of late this blog site has demonstrated some thirst for a civil war that is rather worrying. I would not want some other battlefront to be opened on you or anyone else. After all these are just but opinions.

As much as we love the team we have to accept that alot of things have been done in an ameturish manner. This includes the approach to player signings as well as the botched-up elections. There is always a learning time and this s a perfect opportunity, thank God we still have a whole month to correct the errors. While we acknowledge the efort the technic has been wanting. The SG and AR need to work smatter and not harder as they are currently doing. Looks like it has been either harder or impossible to get Bonny and Omino (why not try Asike) so we should get whoever we can and move forward. Was watching previous Gor matches and I just realised that though it’s not impossible, it will be hard to fill Mosoti’s position.

Looks like Lavatsa is leaving us while Kenga might not join us after all. I believe this is a hurdle we cannot surmount. I hope our TB and EC are taking their time to watch tournaments like Koth Biro where we can get the next Lavatsa and Kenga. After all we are known for making somebody from nobody. We had BB right from school, so is Viera, Masika, Dawo from RTS etc. At some point we must decide to close shop and move on

  • The circus continues. Apparently Lavatsa has never signed a new deal. Please EC, is it the case with Oboya, Kevin and Musa also. The signing news for all the four was in one press release.

The opinions and reactions on the blog are a true reflection of the frustration at information coming out from our officials. I will not be surprised to see a rise in hooliganism as a result. Someone is likely to run faster this coming season.

I appeal to AR to come to his senses and stop this uncertainty monster that will cause damage when the season begins. The last time we went to Loitokitok, we had violence in the first match after all the transfer fever. Please AR, try and address the members and appeal for calm.

Meanwhile, i will try and patiently wait for the ‘Final Tally’ as some ‘Tharaka Nithi’ may just cause some last minute shock.

Can somebody tell mi why David Juma ws able to win the second runner up in the goalkeeper category 3 seasons ago, fell behind Ben Roberts Mandela the season after then slipped to third choice last season? I may nt gt my answer bt I knw the reason won’t b pleasant. Someone said the TB might have seen his ‘qualities ‘ .Where did ths miracle happen yet the guy never evn made the bench for close to half of last season’s games? Did they give him some private trials? Ua guess is as good as mine.
