Gor Mahia to play Italy U20

The Italians are expected to tour the country on April 14 and will play a series of build-up matches against national Under-20 team and champs K’Ogalo
Italian national under-20 team will tour the country from next week for a series of build up matches.
The team will play two build-up matches while in the country before flying out. Football Kenya Federation President Sam Nyamweya said the Italian side will arrive in Nairobi on April 14.
“They will play national under-20 side on Wednesday April 16 and then take on Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia on Friday April 18,” Nyamweya told Goal.
Nyamweya said the build-up match will give national Under-20 side good preparations before they fly out to take on Tanzania in their return Africa Youth Championships.
The two teams fought to a barren draw in the first leg match played at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday. Kenya coach John Kamau is confident they will get a positive result in Dar-es-Salaam.
“Playing against the Italian juniors will be a very good test for us and good preparations as well. This has been planned from last year and we are happy.
“I believe we will get better results and win the game in Dar. The Tanzanians are very beatable and we will strive to win. We had challenges in preparation where I worked with two different teams but all the same, the result was fair. We should have won the game had we converted the chances we got.”
How will we play the Italians on 18th then Thika a day later? . But on the flipside may be a chance for the fringe players to impress. Been dying to see Kariuki and Kopany play full time after their impressive cameos in pre season

Let the play gor Mahia under 19 side period ! Gor Mahia senior club is not for the under 20s, hiyo ni madharau Kubwa sana ! Can you imagine Italy senior team playing kenya under 20 ? We are not inferior.
Jakoyo do not kid yourself. This U20 team will beat any KPL team thoroughly.
Remember that the Flamengo or was it Corinyhians U19 team beat gor a few years ago
this is a friendly match, once you are 18 year you can be in senior team. Gor can still be Gor with 18 and 20 year olds
@ 6 Omondi. You are sport on. Once 18 you are an adult. I think the main thing here is the different styles of Football that is played which will come into Focus. Secondly presumably, all those Italian players have grown playing serious Football. I would encourage all to attend. I do not think it is in any way degrading. In-fact it is a good opportunity.
