Gor Mahia to play Muhoroni at Afraha
Gor Mahia fans will not need to travel to Mumias again this weekend. The match against Muhoroni Youth which was earlier scheduled for Mumias complex has been moved to Afraha. The match will occur on Saturday May 4 at 3pm.
Last year in the equivalent fixture, Gor Mahia inexplicably succumbed to a 0-1 loss to Muhoroni. Fans will be hoping to avoid a repeat of that disaster. Indeed fans are eagerly hoping to see an improvement from the last two matches which have both ended in draws against lowly ranked teams. Most notably, an inability to score goals continues to plague the team. Dan Seserunkuma and Rama Salim who between them scored 29 goals last season suddenly cannot find the back of the net.
Goal Drought
“I am concerned about our lack of goals. We dominated the play against Homeboyz, had the chances but just couldn’t score. We need to earn as many goals as we can,” said coach Logarusic to the Nation.
Lavatsa , Sserunkum and Rama Salij have all been guilty of missing gild edged chances. But Logarusic indicated that he is working on the issue while noting that the absence of Kiongera is being felt. “Kiongera’s absence has hit us hard; he was to be my main hitman. Sserunkuma is doing a good job but goals are scarce. But I am confident he will soon begin delivering,”
Shopping for talent.
Logarusic says he is already scouting for an attacking midfielder and striker to supplement his squad.
“We are a bit short in the attack and attacking midfield positions. I want to add at least one player in the two areas. I have already spotted the kind of player I want but will have to wait until the window opens. I need a natural goal scorer,” he told the Nation. .

Le Pastre posted on April 30, 2013:
I want to appeal to those that love GM as much as I do to sobberly read this posting and to criticise it positively where needed. I am not one to Castigate a coach on his systems and methods or lack of one or both for nothing. I have greatly restrained myself from writing On This Man LOGA and his TACTICS from the time he joined GM. But after six dull matches in the current KPL season where Gor Mahia huffed and puffed before posting mixed and uninspiring RESULTS (W3D2L1), we need to examine his technical and Tactical abilities or lack of both. And I dare say:- LOGA the coach has very limited technical and tactical approach to his coaching. He thrives a lot on hype, adrenaline, motivation and sadly threats. REASONS/EXAMPLE -During the SONY SUGAR match, they (SONY) were sitting deep and were inviting us to attack them. This called for a ball carrier ALA MESSI and a winger to stretch play. LOGA stuck to the narrow and ineffective combination of two short strikers – Danny and Rama striking through the overcrowded defence of SONY. He should have switched D. Owino into the Central attacking midfield role, removed the sloppy Teddy to bring in Anguyo in the Central defence. Anguyo, Mosoti and Owino are all very strong players and a threat at set pieces because of their heights. Owino has the ability to carry the ball forward and can track back with speed. Why is it that LOGA could not see this!! He has only one predictable Line-up for all the opponents SINCE he joined GM! He fielded the same line up against the newly promoted Kakamega Home Boys expecting a different result- win!! He therefore passed a big chance to spring a surprise on the unsuspecting new boys by fielding a different line up. We therefore ended up with a draw against a very weak opponent. He fears trying out new Combinations even when his preferred Line-ups are so flat. The same line ups that struggles week In week out to win matches convincingly!! LOGA waits for the fans to express their displeasure before tweaking his starting Line-ups, but just abit. He should be commended however for not fearing to make unpopular substitutions when least expected. RECOMENDATIONS- LOGA must do the following:- 1. Start using Rama as the creative mind of the team (no8 or10) but not as a twin striker. 2 Must begin to use width (wingers) to stretch opponents and to deliver crosses in opponents’ box. Please use Kevo and Mutiso. Look at how both Bayern Munchen and Borrusia Dortmund recently destroyed Barca and R Madrid respectively using the width advantage. Mario Goetz, Robben, Riberry, Muller, Reus were all capable of creating havoc on the opposition because of their ability to attack from outside wide. 3. Must begin to use a fit-again Lavatsa as the FOCAL of our attack in the middle. He has the speed, the build, the height, stamina, control, and packs a good shot and an eye for goal. Danny can play thr no 10 role or even from the wings when Kiongera is still injured. 4. In the absence of Mutiso and Kiongera the coach can use Yusuf Juma upfront in a wide left position to provide crosses especially in the 2nd half when the opposition is tiring. 5. Abbey Kunrunmi appears to be a decent striker. Why is LOGA affraid to give him a chance to prove himself especially now That Danny is struggling with form!! 6. GOR must play with Wingers who must be impressed upon to deliver quality early crosses for the strikers to attack. 7 Rotation must be done when needed. The best defender in KPL 2012-Anguyo, comes to mind. He needs game time in his favoured defensive position- the CENTRAL DEFENCE or else LOGA is going to destroy his confidence. He can play in almost any partnership at the back for GM. He can play with Anguyo /Mosoti, Anguyo/Owino, Anguyo/Musa and Anguyo/Emuge. All these are cable players and Gor Mahia is Lucky to have them. Doing this will keep the players fresh. It will give someone like Mosoti the much needed rest as he looks drained already. Look at wht Man Utd has achieved with their rotation policy- the EPL TROPHY. So LOGA must also learn to listen to advice or else these players are going to suffer burnout. 8. David Owino is so talented such that LOGA must begin to play him in the midfield when there is need. He is comparable to Phil Jones of Man Utd and so he can perform similar duties as the Red devils man. The eye for details on player’s talents and growth are just some of the things tht separates great coaches from good ones. LOGA HAS NOT this ability. He is stalling the TALENTS of the following players 1. Willis Ochieng GK 2. David Otieno DF 3. Musa Mohamed DF. 4 Ivan Anguyo DF 5.Yusuf Juma DF 6. Moses Otieno Odhiambo MF 7. Mutiso MF 8. Abbey Kunrunmi. Look at what Gor just unearthed the other day by fielding Gaucho and Mutiso!! These two boys if entrusted to Bobby and looked after very well by the club will become the club’s mainstay in the next 2 yrs. LOGA is a journeyman so he will never grow/develop any group of players for any team. He is A Mourinho type of coach as he needs and recruits only those players that in his eyes are star players. Finaly, I have scouted 3 very interesting players from Karuturi Sports. A defender jersey no 5, Owino in midfield and a striker jersey no 15. The coaches can check them out. Adios and Happy reading.
This is the Barefoot Bandit signing off from Hell and wishing you a good stay on earth
chasing loger will not panacea to our problems. logger also knows that there is a problem with scoring. so why not let him do his work. i might not agree with some of his technics but we must agree and give him credit to what he has done for gor. coaches like ogola that some are now crying for are in the ‘tested and failed’ kenya coaches list, i’m afraid to say. i admired ogola as a player but that’s it. loger brought some semblance of professionalism in the gor tech bench. the only other coaches who probably enjoy this power are matano and salim in ulinzi. but again ulinzi is army club. the league is still young guys, let loger do his work without emotions. there is no team in the kenyan league with any consistency. consistency ended in the eighties during the gor/afc reign. consistency will not come overnight. loggers should have an identifiable first eleven. why are some of us now screaming that logger has a known first eleven. a few months ago gor was being accused of not having a known first eleven. i wonder who is confused here. the gor problem is not wether rama is playing, or wether akumu is behind who and anguyo is on the left, right or behind the keeper. the problem is simply technic. give the coach time to find his footing. by now it is a known secret that while playing gor you pack ur defence. coaches know that by drawing agains gor they get enough ‘bonga points’ against getting fired. so understand that even beatin KK homeboyz was bound to be tough. you saw how the Sony keeper behaved during their game with gor. all they wanted was to survive and get a draw. this means that is easier for gor to beat sofapaka, breweries than to beat chemelil. so guys, pls let logar have the time to come up with a solution to this problem.
Dinga u must know that time is money and the more we say we give him time we loose points remember giving coaches time is what coused us the league last season
Man unt won thier first title under Fergie just when they were planning to sack him. See where the club is as we speak. Loga is here to help gor move to the next level.
Which level are u talking about brother we we have had these guy for now going to 2 yrs and nothing is changing even the carpet ball GOR used to play is gone.can u remember even wakati wa Gedion we used to play sexy game compared to now, thats now brings the question what happened to our patern we used to play?,my dear brothers the early we see this the better for us,i rest my case
My brother which level are u talking about with the kind of football we r playing am waiting to see
Most honourables Dinga and Mcosweto I have perused the blog and checked through previous articles but I have not found any comment agitating for the sacking of the coach. All the bloggers are calling for is results. Even the Hell Four who would have been expected to call for that are simply urging the coach to re-invent.
Thanx Mr Half Life for sheding the light infact no one has said the coach shoul go but he must do something yawa tho
My dear brothers and sisters patience is a virtue, why do we need quick success yet we don’t have the oil money we see in Europe? It took the mighty bercelona around 7 years to build a formidable team while it took borussia dormund around a decade to build that strong team we all envy now. Im may take gor 3 to 5 years to have a team capable of winning the title and retaining it as well as reaching Caf group stages. We have to be real, changing coaches and players will never make gor stronger as many may think. Let us give the team time to develop, i belive we will soon have something to smile about from the team.

AFRAHA STADIUM :GOOD HUNTING GROUND FOR K’OGALO
Afraha stadium, in the scenic and commercial town of Nakuru has always brought mixed fortunes for K’Ogalo. I hope this time round, we shall bag all the maximum points not just to improve our log standing but also break the jinx usually provided by the newly promoted clubs and those facing relegation.
Muhoroni Youth has been a hard nut to crack and they have always wanted to prove that they are not joyriders in the Tusker Premier League.
On the formbook, we are the favorites. We have the fans, a more experienced team and an impressive club record to boot. The Muhuroni Youth side will mainly rely on their youthfulness and big ego to try and beat K’Ogalo. I am afraid the former Nakuru munipal ground might not be good enough, especially during this rainy season to let our boys to display their flowery football ( aka maua).
I take this early opportunity to wish our boys every best of luck and safe journey to and from Nakuru. As for my previous post, I have nothing personal against the guysi mentioned. I just added some fun twist to the topical issue. Otherwise, I sincerely respect the guys, their comments and indeed I’ve benefitted immensely from their insightful commments. I am proud of you guys.1
No one is above criticism. And No one is saying Loga should be fired. But the essence of a blog is that people are free to criticize. The team really needs to pull up their socks. Their play has been below standard this year. There cant be any excuse. Teams like Muhoroni dont have high quality players. A 3rd game without a win will not be acceptable. Itabidi tushinde.
I hate the stadium surface bt wish Kogalo all the best. Great article from Le Pastre re-posted above.
So far we have 3 wins, 2 draws, 1 loss. It is my prayer that we start scoring goals coming Saturday. But let us all remain patient and stop putting the coach under pressure. What can you do if you find yourself under pressure? Just have a reflective thinking as an individual over the same…
Logarusic you can try to use some of the tactics posted by Le Pastre on April 30, 2013 and seconded by @1 Barefoot Bandit.
I hope none of us is satisfied with the results so far but I know the league is still ‘young’. I remember last year when we were in position eleven in the log some of us predicted we would finish either in position 2 or take the league and I saw it happened so I have strong faith that we are taking the league this year; no doubt.
The coach promised to take the TPL trophy and we can only hold him accountable at the end of the season. Taking the league may not mean winning all matches but we look at the overall achievement after all the 29 matches.
@Walter I echo your sentiments. We are all not satisfied with the results. And this includes all the fans, EC, players and the Tech Bench. But as you said you cannot start judging the players after 4 matches when we have a marathon. They say you can knoow how the day will be in the morning yet as @Walter says we started last year badly but performed beyond our expectations.
So I think let’s evaluate the team after the first leg, and then at the end of the league. We can see even the defending champs are struggling though they are able to get slim wins. Looks like those days of 4-0 drubbing ended with KCB in the first games of this season and so we should know that it’s gonna be as hard as never before to win this year’s league.
The team with the most supportive fans (irrespective of results) , EC, sponsor and focussed players will carry the season.
And I believe that team will be none other than GM. We have set the bar higher for our team such that if we don’t reach the stars then we will find ourselves on the moon. And as 2013 champs
