KPL reject FKF decision

The Kenyan Premier League has refused to ratify the decision by the Football Kenya Federation to award Gor Mahia three points in their abandoned league match with Sony Sugar in Awendo two weeks ago.
KPL say Gor Mahia’s appeal to the federation did not follow the right procedure.
According to KPL Chief Executive Officer, Jack Oguda, Gor Mahia ought to have lodged their appeal through the KPL and not the federation.
“Gor Mahia appealed to the federation, which is contrary to the judicial process,” said Oguda in a letter to Gor Mahia secretary George Bwana.
He added; “As you are aware the Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC) must hear any appeal as established by the Governing Council, and if a club is aggrieved with their decision then they appeal to the Federation’s tribunal. We hereby confirm that we have not received any appeal from Gor Mahia on the above match.”
The decision by FKF to award Gor Mahia the three points has generated heated debate within local football.
One divide wants Gor Mahia to be given the match while other feels the KPL machinary should be followed to decide on the fate of the match.
KPL governing council meeting called yesterday to discuss FKL’s decision failed to take place due to lack of quorum. KPL is now headed for a showdown with the federation over the matter as the latter moved to stamp its authority.
FKF chairman Sam Nyamweya said the federation was in order by awarding Gor Mahia the three points after “investigations revealed Sony Sugar were guilty of causing the abandonment of the match” which was tied at 2-2 at the time of abandonment. Sony Sugar players protested Gor Mahia’s second goal that was scored in the 84th minute claiming it had not cross the line.
The referee’s report did not blame any of the two sides for causing the abandonment but also stated the match officials were assaulted by Sony Sugar players and officials.
However yesterday referee Nassur Doka said he was not assaulted.
SEASON”S TALKING POINT
KPL had called club chairmen to deliberate on the issue that may become the season’s talking point. Sony Sugar chairman Chris Odero hit out at FKF saying they was setting a bad precedent.
Yesterday AFC Leopards also protested the award saying it was a scheme to favour Gor Mahia.
“AFC Leopards protests in the strongest terms the suspect awarding of three points to Gor Mahia by the FKF in the aborted fixture between Gor Mahia and Sony Sugar,” said Leopards Chief Executive Officer Richard Ekhalie in a statement.
He added: “Where we sit, it would appear like the quick resolve to award Gor Mahia the points is part of a wider scheme to ensure that final results of the KPL goes in a particular pre-determined way.
“We fault both the KPL for quickly ordering for a replay without following the right procedure of summoning both parties.”
for an IDCC hearing, and FKF for playing to the gallery of awarding points instead of declaring the Gor Mahia appeal as premature.”
and referring it (the appeal) to the KPL’s disciplinary committee, which never met in the first place. We therefore call for KPL and FKF to do the right thing and declare the two controversial rulings null and void and commence proper procedure as per FKF/KPL/FIFA statutes.”
Gor Mahia lead the league with 41 points-minus the Sony game. They play Tusker in the weekend.
aiiii! Yawa! Why do this people hate GM?
RICHARD EKHALIE(EFUSI) IS UPTO TO SOMETHING ! THE REFEREE HAS ALSO COME OUT TO SAY HE WAS NOT ASSAULTED ! THE PHOTO ABOVE SHOWS SONY PLAYERS READY FOR COMBAT/FIST FIGHT, WHO ARE THEY FIGHTING/ASSAULTING ?. .. ………….WHETHER IT WAS A GOAL OR NOT DOES NOT MATTER, WHAT MATTERS IS WHY DID THE REFEREE DID NOT CONTINUE WITH THE GAME.
oguda, pls give the points to afc leopards. they too seem to be having a problem with the awendo match.what is ur problem with gor? ur one of the guyz who was so ready for the replay after sony gave their view. how does a referee say that there was no violence metted on him “cause he ran away”. how corrupt can oguda get to ignore this? even if it was to be replayed pls learn that there was violence started and influenced by sony. that these officials to leave out this fact coz they “ran away” is impunity of the highest order. how these clubs survuve with this oguda guy is amazing. given… gor could have presented it’s complaint to the wrong body but for oguda to ignore what happened at the pitch and the conduct of it’s officials is appalling.
my take. replay the match but do not let the violence duo of kasaya et zedi go scot free. i do not thnk that gor needs these free points, but YES i do believe gor deserved to be given the match.
Which of the 2 is more supreme? KPL or FKF??
@ Dinga i beg to disagree GOR should not replay the match why? cost implication and players health. who will bear responsibility even for the traveling fans. will they will be allowed to use the same awendo tickets?
GOR EC MIGHT HAVE GONE TO SUPREME COURT OF KENYAN FOOTBALL WITHOUT PASSING COURT OF APPEAL AND HIGH COURT AFTER OGUDA’S CHIEF MAGISTRATE COURT FAIL TO UP HOLD THE RULE OF LAW. SUPREMACY REQUIRES THE OGUDA’S AND THEIR COURT TO ABIDE BY THE VERDICT OF COURT SUPREME COURT AT FKF AND SWALLOW THEIR PRIDE
If Sony was not responsible for the abandonment and so was Gor, then who was? The referee was not assaulted but could not continue officiating the match? What stopped him from restarting the game after Gor’s equalizer? Surely somebody must take the responsibility. Gor does not need free points. Gor has accumulated over 40 points without FKF or KPL help, and I do not think we need any free goodies. All we are saying is that let there be fairness. Gor has forfeited points under similar circumstances before. What has now changed?
For God and my beloved club – Kogallo
Can all other teams please shut up!!!why is it that all other teams are up in arms because we have for once been awarded points for a game that was not abandoned by us?where were they when we were banned and fined in the past…and not once!!cant Gor Mahia for once not benefit from boardroom decisions like all other teams that have benefited against us?!?
Its shocking at the reaction that is being seen from other clubs and the deluded KPL,yet when Gor is accused,we are swiftly fined and banned without a moments hesitation…..just be fair!!!
*****************My fellow blogers can someone inform me how afc leopards returned to the league after being relegated some years back. I can guess that they were returned without qualifying and i stand to be corrected, and ever since they returned to the league kpl they have naever finished the league above us.MY advice to them is…..can they sort their issues first as aclub before medling in gor mahia issues.EVEN if we are not given those three points ican assure them they wont catch up with us before they start their normal politcs of maragoli, bukusu ,tiriki and the rest.To the oguda guy leave gor mahia alone if you were given some bags of sugar by sony ,it is your own problem and dont involve gor mahia in it give us space man nyamweya is the president.
Kwani Oguda will stop the league until we play Sony. I doubt it & we may have won the league by the time KPL & FKF resolve this issue.
Oguda u should know pple, Nyamweya can scrap hiyo kaleague yako.
TB & players kazi kwenu
Bloggers allow me 2 campaigns
1. A more structured membership with a proper register electronic as ably suggested by BB & many others.
2.A lean EC of ideally of 4 persons(preferably legends) with a secretariat of a CEO,FINANCE & ADMIN & HEAD COACH AS TECHNICAL DIRECTOR
All that goes round comes round. Let justice prevail but I believe K’ogalo Can win the league even if the tree points were to be given to Sony. For the technical Bench, Please ignore the noise and continue with the good job and for the players, It is time to market yourself by winning the league whatever the circumstance. GO K’OGALO GO.
Food for thought.
As per futaa.com Pinchez’s Omani deal has hit a snag. His agent who (btw was also Rama’s) has backtracked as the player has no clearance from AFC.
Apparently the Omani club won’t even talk to Pinchez coz of the lack of clearance.
Someone in our EC MUST HAVE ISSUED RAMA WITH THE CLEARANCE. The agent & club had all the neccessary papers from GM. Rama’s transfer fee remains a rumour to date.
AS WE ACCEPT & MOVE ON LETS TAKE NOTE OF THE PITFALLS OF A BLOATED EC.
I hav a quiz:-Akina oguda huchaguliwa na nani?Nilikuwa Sony na what Kasaya did, ilikuwa aibu kwa mchezaji kama yeye.Amenifanya kuchange from supporting Sony to Supporting GOR.GOR NG’AMALOI ONGE.
Between KPL and FKF hp is superior? Which is this other committee Oguda is referring to? What about AFC, how do they come in to this? I thought the guys who came into AFC leadership were more civilised than what am now seeing.Oguda please give the three points to Ingwe.
Every body knows that if it was Gor in the wrong punishment would have come quick and furious, and nobody would come out to defend us? Why the double standards, Mr Oguda? We still remember your roots in Mathare and Munro, but we are watching. What about the Sony players and officials caught on camera assaulting match officials? You will order them to replay that as well?
The bottom line: Mr Oguda LETS HAVE THE REPLAY ASAP,at a place of your choice; my dear Kogalo supporters lets drum up for replay to shame them, it is going to make it even sweeter when we win the title; these three point are ours; we want to finish with this league, the GoTV and let the players rest.

Tickets to K’Ogali v/s Tusker F.C (Sunday 3PM city Stadium) will be printed abroad for security reason Gbwana-Commendable move
Printing tickets abroad, although welcome is not the ultimate solution. In most matches ticket are recycled, so we need to have people of integrity at the gates. The so called youths are behind the scam and its a high time they are removed from the gates.
Gwer Gwer i agree with you whole some, if its a matter of fake tickets then who prints them? And why not just arrest the hopeless printers? The recycling is there, the intelligence informing of the fake tickets must have also talked of recycling what are you doing about this?
what went wrong between, omondi and kiongera after yesterdays match please it so sad to see plays from the same team fighting each other after a match
we are going to stop going to the stadium if this is the trend, we always happy to support the club the easiest way is to have Fans cards that machine can read once you reload the card, lets go electronic way
