Let the fans Make home ground advantage count

Gor Mahia face a herculean task of overturning a 0-3 deficit against a tactically astute Egyptian side. It is a tall order especially when you consider that Gor Mahia have had difficulty scoring goals at home in theor last three continental matches. Whereas the odds are rather steep, there is a saying that goes “Anything is possible in football. Few would have thought that Sofapaka could score 4 goals against Egyptian side Ismailia 2 years ago. Yet they did it without the benefit of a supportive home crowd.

This Gor Mahia squad is capable of pulling such a feat. The fans must play their part. Fans must show up in large numbers and by get behind their team from the very beginning and do not stop cheering until the final whistle.

Injuries

Gor Mahia will be without Rama Salim and Raphael Kiongera who proved a dependable scorer for the team in the first few matches. “I am yet to recover from my thigh injury. I can barely run and I do not know for how long I will be out because the doctors have not put a time-line on the recovery process,” Kiongera told The star newspaper.

ENPPI coach said he respects Gor Mahia especially from the way they played in Cairo in the first leg.

“Gor Mahia is a good team, but I think technically we are superior,” he said

In their absence, Gor Mahia will depend on Dan Sserunkuma who has yet to regain the form that saw him almost finish atop the scoring charts least season.

Coaches View

Gor Mahia coach Zdvarko Logarusic has stated that North African teams are beatable and that Gor Mahia can do it on Saturday. “Two years ago when I was coach of Ashgold (of Ghana), Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia beat us 3-0 in Tunis but when they came to Ghana, we beat them 3-1 yet they were the defending champions in this same competition. So it is not impossible,” he told the Daily Nation.

Omusala, Ingo, Vitoo, Bill Wabzz and Nabzz please come and join us as we lift up our boys. Of course the market madman has also bought his ticket and is all over the social media declaring that he will be there but with very bad motives. Come let us join together, give him direction and show him that rivalry in football does not translate to ethnic hatred and intolerance.

in my opinion if we get to halftime at 2-0 up,that will give us the impetus to score more goals in the 2nd half.so lets go out there and push the boys into making that happen!!

  • That means Ashgold (of Ghana) were still eliminated 4-3 (aggregate 5-3)Its not a question of beating ENPPI but winning BIG if we want to proceed to the nxt round we must beat them 4-0.
Anyway let whatever the result let this be a learning experience.
Let’s go for the league, then regional CECAFA (its been a long time since we won this), then finally continental titles.
Therefore solve the attacking midfield and scoring problems.
ALL THE BEST K’GALO ON SATO, KNOWING LOGA I EXPECT AT LEAST ONE OR TWO MIRACLES- WE’LL HAVE A FULL SQUAD SINCE THE INJURIES WILL HAVE “HEALED” AND THE MORE DIFFICULT ONE BEATING ENPPI 4-0

  • @Barefoot Bandit without you naming the market madman we all know who he is. All the same we all know that a market is not complete without its madman. We welcome him to the match since as Gor we welcome everyone to the match.
Omusala, Ingo, Vitoo, Bill Wabzz and Nabzz we also wish your team the best to stop KCB and revenge the damage they did to you last year. This will also ensure that they start their downward spiral early enough.
Without diverting from the subject we wish the team all the best and we should all know that everything is possible. It will not be the first time a team reverses a 3-0 defeat or succumbs to the away goal rule.
So let’s go to the stadium tomorrow hoping for the best but accept whatever results come up

  • To my Dear Brother Barefoot,

Thank you very much for the gesture. I just wanted to let you know that ticket nimenunua, Gors jersey nimenunua, Vuvuleza nimenunua. I’m ready to cheer the boys. I will bring two other Ingwe fans with me. By the way, nimekununulia safari boot from Bata. You will no longer be “barefoot”. Since you will now have shoes, you will no longer be “barefoot” and will need a new name. I will baptize you with a new name from the far land of ingo. The name is Mulai which means the good one. “Mulai Bandit” which translates to “The Good Bandit”

I also join @barefoot bandit and @dan, in welcoming our resident madman to enjoy with us an afternoon of good football at the national stadium.
Three years ago,in the same competition and at the same stadium, I remember joining fellow kenyans as we rallied behind ingwe when they were playing Banks of ethiopia, where they won 3-1, unfortunately ingwe lost the reverse tie in addis 3-0, and bowed out of the competition.
I also remember in 1997, when we cheered ingwe and breweries en route to an all kenyan cecafa club final, at nyayo. When the competition reached the semis, the whole country rallied behind ingwe when they played uganda’express, and breweries againts, was it apere (Apr ) or Yanga? Needless to say both teams won and ingwe downed breweries in the final.
So as we face the daunting task of upstaging waarabu, we call upon all ingwe fans of goodwill ingo, vitoo, bill wabbz , omusala etc to pliz ‘rudisha mkono’.
The task ahead is clearly gigantic but definitely not insurmountable.
Lets’ turn up in large numbers and support the team from the first to the last.

  • No matter what outcome i must be there to cheer Gor. My brother is already in Mumias to be updating me on the goings tomorrow. He has wished Gor all the best which i personaly do. Yesterday i visited my doctor “MJAKA” from our story we realised us watu wa Ingo and watu wa maji when things fall a part in this country we the two suffer alot. I called a meeting last saturday at our branch to discuss Afc matters, but i’m telling my members were as good as dead after witnessing what happened in supreme cort and the beating in Awendo.so Afc and Gor share most of things including barabara ya kwenda home.i that connection we should bond more than before support one another and keep off outside forces that would wish that we crash one another especially when we meet in soccer.aonge jersy mar Gor but an gi dhako na gi nyathina woi, wabiro Nyayo stadium kinyi saa abirio. We must cheer Gor hata tukishindwa sitaki kujua. I therefore humbly and kindly put Afc leopards and Gor in the gracefull lovely has of Jesus Christ while on my knees praising Him and asking Him to bless them and strike a miracle on them by awarding them a win and qualification respectively tomorrow. Lord we will also accept your will,as may it be so. Amen.

    Thanks comrades.

I take this opportunity to as well wish our team well.
I hope i’ll be able to appeal to fans to kindly know there is a difference between cheering your team and wishing them play the way you want.

Let us cheer the team and enjoy football. Badmouthing players and the tech bench is not cheering at all.

We will have all the time after the match to analyse and criticize as loudly as we can, remember no one is your slave or employee in the pitch, they’re all trying to give more than they can, sometimes things just don’t work out for the them the same way it turns out for you at your place of work.

I just hope the improvement we saw during the Mathare match from Ulinzi game will be carried on.

Ooh Laa la! “@Jakoyo my comrade are you still worried”.

@ Jakoyo we need the 12th man more than the “SOME SIX GUYS” at the supreme court to over turn the verdict “UNANIMOUSLY” in a record 90 minutes of playing time.

@Jakoyo just “tokelezea” even if you do not “BELIEVE”; irrespective of the outcome. You still have on Tuesday to deal with ‘Kigali’ at “Kisirani” sports ground.

@ Jakoyo we have a date with destiny tomorrow at Nyayo national stadium since the 3-0 are just preliminary result that were hacked through the electronic transmission system.

Please also bear in mind that on Tuesday your worries will magnify since at “Kisirani” Sports ground since it will be a different ball game and as usual “Kigali” will still be “Sirkal” in football matters at all cost.

  • GOR MAHIA TO SIGN A NEW DEAL WITH TUZO

Gor Mahia and their shirt sponsors Tuzo have agreed on a new and improved deal to be signed in a few weeks.

The club’s secretary general, George Bwana, said they have been in talks after the previous two-year agreement worth Sh38 million expired at the end of March.

“We have finalized talks. What remains is just to set a date when we can make public details of the new deal. Tuzo have been great partners and they have offered us an improved deal which we think is good for both of us,” said Bwana.

In the new deal, Bwana said, all major club expenses and salaries, including that of the coach and the rest of the technical bench, will be catered for by Tuzo. Initially the technical bench was paid by the club.

“We have looked back at the strides we have covered since we entered into the partnership and while there were times we had issues, we consider them as the common teething problems in any deal,” Bwana said.

    Learning experience

“It was the first time Gor Mahia was entering in such an agreement and Tuzo were also sponsoring a Premier League club for the first time. It has been a learning experience and now we look forward for a better working arrangement.”

Mahia who are taking part in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Cup championships have also been approached by other potential sponsors who Bwana said are not in conflict with the main sponsor.

“We’ll look at the proposals and if they are not in conflict with the main sponsor, we will welcome them.”

The sponsorship deal with Tuzo has removed a huge burden off Gor Mahia who were hitherto severally faced by financial difficulties.

They have been able to pay players on time. Tuzo too have benefited hugely from the publicity there off.

If I see goal number one within the first 30 mins then my heart will feel easy that we can overturn the tables. Friends let us pray for early goals to ease pressure; this Egyptian may frustrate us if we don’t score within the first 45 mins. Let’s remain positive
