Logarusic on current progress
New signings
Gor Mahia coach Zdvarko Logarusic has indicated that he is satisfied with most of the new signings Gor Mahia acquired during the off-season.
He told the Standard today ”
“The three Kiongera, Owino and Emuge have really impressed me and I am satisfied with their output so far. With them, we can do wonders next season. Mutiso still needs a little time to be where we need him. To his advantage, he provides us a great option in midfield.
Looking for a Striker
Logarusic indicated that he is still in search of an extra striker whom he is expected to sign before the new season kicks off “Our biggest need now is an extra and experienced striker. We are expecting a tough season with more competitions to take part in. One more striker will be a great addition to our club,” he said.
Expecting a difficult season
Logarusic indicated that this season is going to be a difficult one and that there are at least 5 teams that hae an excellent chance of winning. He called on fans to expect some losses and accept them gracefully. “We cannot win all the time” said the Croatian coach.
This means that the Brazilian import is not in Loga’s plans! Can we get a clue of how this Samba unfit ended up at Gor! Or is it because he is white! Who negotiated his high Salary in the first place.
Don’t worry comrade. Look on the brighter side: K’Ogalo has a Croatian coach and a Brazilian ball boy. What more can we ask for.
“Ball man” not “Ball boy” I surpose-if ever they exist! Too old to be that comrade Bandit.
“He called on fans to expect some losses and accept them gracefully. “We cannot win all the time” said the Croatian coach.”
I hope as fans we will take and internalise those words from the coach. Unfortunately we have a clique which is always out there looking for and creating anarchy. For those who care to listen/read what is said/written out there they will know that these behaviours are really hurting the Gor brand.
This brand, when hurt/bruised is also affecting negatively some individuals (sponsors and political contestants) who are then wrongly associated with the chaos.
So as responsible fans let’s be our brother’s keepers when the season starts in a few week’s time. Let’s respect and not inconvinience motorists and members of the public whenever we play and we win or lose.
Defending the team against such accusations from those who we are trying to recruit as followers at times becomes too hard
Dan, thats it but I want to see more contributors talking on discipline as we approach the kickoff in the new season. Lets have real change in character as supporters of Kogalo and not be associated with bad behaviour all the time. Win or lose, thats always expected in competitive sport everywhere.
The political situation is bad and people can very easily be manipulated to cause chaos and then use it against our political leaders. WHEN WE WIN LEAVE THE STADIUM PEACEFULLY AND CELEBRATE IN RESPONSIBLE MANNER, DO NOT STOP TRAFFIC, DONT TOUCH ANY VEHICLE OR ANYBODY’S private PROPERTY. WHEN WE LOSE LETS LEAVE THE STADIUM PEACEFULLY AND MOARN PEACEFULLY WITHOUT TOUCHING ANY THING, BUT CONTINUE SINGING THE TEAMS’ PRAISES. THAT IS THE WAY TO GO THIS SEASON. NIL VIOLENCE THIS SEASON.
It is true we will need an experienced striker.
On the new signings, among the three that have impressed, I’ve seen Owino featuring but I thought the guy we acquired from Western Stima is David Otieno and not Owino?
No.6,it is David Otieno and not David Owino….that was a mistake from one of our bogus reporters who know very little about the game!!
That said,i echo the sentiments expressed by Dan,No.4.This time round we should not accept hooliganism to mar Gor games. We must accept defeat and a win in equal measure!Being each others keeper will help keep the hooligans in check.Lets be-ware of people who might want to take advantage to paint us in bad picture!!
I am greatful for what Dan and Ja Thur gi ji have posted 4 and 5 respectively,in support of what the coach has said about the new season. The league will be tough we must therefore be prepared to win some and loose some and that is football. Dear friends this is a fact and it does not in anyway mean that one is a looser before they even start. This is responsible sportsmanship.Every participating Team competes to win for they all regard each other as equals. we should therefore be ready to shake hands like the coaches and the players do when it is over on the pitch. To go and present a different picture on the street to me I think does not augur very well with us. It does not change the results from the pitch. For certain it does on the general public. What we showcase out there can either bring people to the stadium meaning more money or drive people away meaning loss of money. My appeal therefore is, with the capacity that we have for democracy and flexibility let us decide to be the light in football that others can desire to follow.
Barefoot bandit,dunga unuse mwaendeleaje?
Kindly refer to ja thur gi ji’s post no 10 in the article,’Gor names squad for caf’.
Ja thur gi ji has raised pertinent issues, including whether you are going to change your name this year?or you still cant afford shoes?Ja thur gi ji is also very concerned, that being an electioneering year,as your second name suggest, you might be planning to visit upon us unprecedented and unseen sufferings!Kindly clarify and clear the air on these very weighty issues raised.
@Dan no 4 and @Ja thur gi ji no 5. I think you will agree with me that cases of hooliganism and indiscipline inside the stadium, have really reduced tremendously.
Our last league match againts thika was an extremely high stake match, and suprisingly enough, not one case of hooliganism was reported inside the stadium, despite th fact that we failed to win the Do or Die match.
The last known case of stadium hooliganism, was when we played oserian in afraha, and you all know the story of that thug who threw an object in the stadium. He was beaten up and later handed to the police.
Since then,i have never seen or heard any case of hooliganism inside the stadium.
Note, that anybody who tries to throw any stone/bottle/missile into the field of play, is usually beaten up by fellow fans whether in russia or vip. Most of you have witnessed this.
These ‘beatings’have been very efficient and have acted as a deterrent to any stone thrower and would be stone thrower in the stadium. This is how we have managed to deal with stone throwers,in our midst.Whether this is the best way to deal with this problem is debetable. But its’ efficiency is not debetable at all!
The biggest problem, facing us is how to deal with cases of hooliganism outside the stadium.People inconveniencing fellow kenyans going about their businesses, disrupting traffic, occasionally stoning motorists, harrassing pedestrians, destroying properties, vandalism of the tom mboya statue etc.
This one is abit complex, coz you are not dealing with football fans ‘per se’,rather you are dealing with criminals either organised or otherwise.
Here i think we need help from other stakeholders.Let the genuine fans who sing from the stadium all the way to the city centre not allow anybody to use gor mahia to cause chaos.Arrest these thugs, and hand them to the police/kanjo and dont prevent police/kanjo from arresting any thug who breaks the law blatantly since he thinks that because he is wearing a gor mahia jersey gor mahia fans will rescue him.
The Ec,should also make it clear that if you engage in criminal acts anywhere,in the name of gor mahia, you are all alone.
Just as we defeated the minority stone throwers in the stadium,we shall also defeat the thugs in the streets, masquraeding as gor fans.Of course with the help of the good fans who are the majority anyway!
@arrumtiddi WELCOME BACK.
For once I disagree with Logarusic for I thought we were going for an unbeaten run this season.
Secondly fellow bloggers during each CECAFA I’ve been urging the “executive community” to get us an Ethiopian (or Malawian) attacking midfielder.WOW in the CAF game against Zambian, the Ethiopians proved me right-SUCH SKILLS, PACE, AGILITY u name it.
Mr. Loga the player you are looking is in Abyssinia. If we had 2 of these guys in our midfield, then the sky is the limit both locally and continentally.
Finally I repeat again EC WORK ON
1. Sponsorhip
2. Stadium Hire fee-we can’t afford the unreasonable rate of 20%
On shares or members “Executive Community” can,if they had no vested interests, easily implement this. Mobilize PAID members both corporate and branches, use merchandizing to attract business oriented individuals as members. ITS ONLY 5BOB A DAY.
KEY IS WITHOUT REGULAR PUBLIC PUBLICATION OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS BY THE MOST REPUTABLE OF AUDITORS THE EXECUTIVE COMMUNITY WILL BE DEPENDENT ON GATE COLLECTIONS. THE CATCH IS, I THINK, THE BLOATED OFFICE LIKES IT THAT WAY
REPOSTED-
Let me echo again on membership and illustrate how GMFC can raise Kshs.10 million annually from 5bob/day
As per Bwana GMFC has 110 branches and I know that each branch must have 30 members.
Now let every branch chairman contribute/month -1,000
” ” ” ” Treasuer ” ” – 750
” ” ” ” Secretary ” ” – 750
The balance of 27 members contribute 150/month -4,050
Total per branch /month -6,550
That means the 110 branches will contribute=
110 x kshs.6,550.00= kshs.720,500.
THEN LET EVERY EC MEMBER CONTRIBUTE KSHS.10,000 per MONTH THEREFORE
14 EC members x 10,000= kshs.140,000.00
TOTAL PER MONTH = 0,000+720,500=KSHS 860,500.00
ANNUAL INCOME FROM MEMBERSHIP=860,500X 12 =10,326,000.00
OF COZ ACCOUNTABILITY, TRANSPARENCY AND RIGHTS OF MEMBERS ARE PARAMOUNT MAYBE THAT’S WHY EC IS NOT WILLING AND PREFERS HARAMBEES AND ELECTIONS WHERE THEY CAN FERRY IN “MEMBERS” IN BUSLOADS @ KSHS.100.00
Oduor 12, thats the kind of mindset that we should get out of ourselves, I didn’t expect that from you of all people. Why, whoever mentioned “unbeaten run”?. That would be utterly unrealistic of the coach if he ever alluded to that kind of thing. But even if he said it that would only a war cry to scare opponents, which is allowed but on serious note you take it with with a pinch of salt.
Thank you very much Arrumtidi@11 Where are more contributors on matters of discipline?
On crowd trouble, i urge all fans to be vigilant and take action against such hooligans.
I also urge the EC to work hand in hand with the Police to ensure that trouble makers are arrested and prosecuted. Our matches before the elections are bound to be tricky as Politicians may use it an an excuse to portray others as unworthy of leadership.Remember, the person throwing stones next to you may not be a fan but a hired goon to tarnish the reputation of the club
@ Jathur gi ji, now now my brother we did in 1976 so the question is why can’t we do it again.
Logarusic thinks we’ll lose some games, and I think we’ll be unbeaten. Just 2 differing thoughts. I never said I would accept the results. I will accept both gracefully.
Now that aside what do you think about 2 Walia antelopes in our attacking midfield? Even if its June signings
Sorry on hooligans (the fracas causing ones not the ones who bring executive community back to line).
1.HIO NI JOB YA I.G DAVID KIMAIYO and the EC in charge of security-does anyone know him.
2.My only advise to the I.G and the official in charge of security is reduce the no. of amateurs stewards to maximum of 30 not the 150 i sometimes hear and I know are just a channel to siphon funds and hire adequate police with full authority and responsibility and I can bet my bottom dollar nobody will dare play funny games.
ITS SIMPLE JUST HAND IT OVER TO THE POLICE. THE AREA COVERED BY A STADIUM IS VERY SMALL. ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS 2HOURS LATE OR 5KMS AWAY IS NOT GOR MAHIA’S FOOTBALL CLUBS BUSINESS
Oooh Laaa la ! LOLLEST!
Lugarusic it will be the same chorus and the famous rallying call of “One game at a time” and then we see how it goes.
