Okoth and Ochieng in harambee stars squad

Two Gor Mahia players , Kevin Ochieng and Collins Okoth “Gattuso” have been maintained in the Harambee stars squad that is preparing for the Africa Nations cup qualifier against Togo on Wednesday. The newly signed duo of Yusuf Juma and Rama Salim have been dropped by coach Francis Kimanzi.

Yusuf Juma was one of the few bright spots during Kenya’s disastrous campaign in the 2012 CECAFA cup. So impressive was he that virtually all the top teams in the Kenya premier league were chasing his signature. His place will likely be taken by Osbourne Monday.  Rama Salim’s star appeared to be on the rise especially after his superb performance playing for the national under 23 team during their tour of West Africa recently. However Kimanzi seems to have chosen the experience of Jamal Mohammed who has also developed a level of cohesion with Dennis Oliech much like Emmanuel Ake did earlier.

Both Rama and Yusuf are still young and if they continue to work hard and stay diligent and correct their weaknesses, they will soon become national team regulars. This is a minor setback that should only serve to motivate them to work harder.

For Gattuso and Ochieng, it is an opportunity to test their mettle against a more talented Togolese side that has the mercurial Emmanuel Adebayor who plies his trade in the English premier league. Both players as defensive midfielders will be crucial in cutting off the supply of passes to Adebayor. Indeed the key to beating Togo is to cut off the supply of passes to Adebayor. He tends to become frustrated if he is not getting good balls. The role of Ochieng and Gattuso will be even more critical now that macDonald Mariga has made himself unavailable for the match.

Gattuso is a good player but should look after his discipline. Hope he raises the bar. As we look forward for the Harambee Stars game, it should not be lost on our technical bench to continue assessing on Kogalo’s tactical view. When we give excuses of we played well and bad luck we dint score is neither here nor there. See how Manchester United grind results even when they aint playing well like the last game with Norwich. We want to see the boys practising more on scoring on their chances and converting penalties. Is AA REALLY in charge or is this Bwana guy who does a lot of talking with no action. All they promised nothing is coming to fruition. Leopard has implemented all we suggested. Mediocrity and lack of foresight should be a thing of the past. As one said we should know the qualifications of AA as well as whether he can really rally our troops to war. He looks too laid back. I wonder whether he is a good communicator. Ken his assistant is not helping either. He is to deal with defence but thats where there are leakages. I hope we see a different rejuvenated side in the next match. Lets foretell the line up. At the moment we don know who is in the 1st eleven. Check out Ingwe’s line up. Its consistent. I think I admire the organisation in their camp from the management to the technical bench to their players to their playing kit. Our blue tuzo kit is just not it! No wonder we are never lucky in them!

“Two Gor Mahia players (…) have been maintained in the Harambee stars squad”

..and seven Ferroviario players have been maintained in the Mozambique squad that plays against Tanzania, today (29 Fev).
    Be carefull GM.

But watch Kimanzi, none of these GM players will get a starting 11 slot, even the on form Masika of AFC; look at the goal keeping situation- Dancun Ochieng of all the goalees that feature in the KPL – Jactone of Ulinzi, Samuel Odhiambo(Tusker), Matasi(AFC). I will not be surprised if we are let down by goalkeeping today.

Surely, who is Jamal Mohamed in KPL as compared even to Mang’oli let alone Rama Salim? I think its high time we have a neutral coach who does not have asoft landing for players whom he has coached or who are friends to the coach! I feel as per now, we have good goalkeepers, the likes of Jactone Odhiambo, Patrick Matasi, Kasaya etc but spare me Duncan Ochieng’. Bliv u me, in today’s match, Ochieng’ will be btn da posts and the team will consist mostly of Sofamiaw players….even our two players won’t be in the starting 11.

I hope kevin ochieng will be fully fit for that match.the last time i watch him play was against muhoroni and left early in the second half due to some injury.if given opportunity, these two guys work to prove themselves and their worth in the team.
Kimanzi should select players based on performance and not any kind of club affiliation.wish kenya all the best.

THIS STORY IS BASELESS A PART FROM JUICING UP FANS

Forget it guys. It is wishful thinking to imagine that KIMANZI will be utilizing the duo in todays match. And as a matter of fact none of them will be featured in the 1st XI [eleven] and given that he has only three options for sub’s my guess is that even one might not appear as a bench warmer.

I believe there is strong secret in these two players coaches admire from them,we as fans may not see because it not in our area of study, but from my little knowledge about football,Master is attack minded player in any position deployed,Gatusso despite in ability to dribble accuracy has tough tackles and ability to last in game for 120 minutes.congrats Gatusso and master we still need you to help kogallo to restore our pride. Good luck

It’s true as Okoth Jabilo had predicted.Worse even the on form Masika could not make it to the starting 11.Sure our national team needs a foreign coach. He decided to use more Sofapaka and Mathare United players where he was once employed despite that Mathare United currently stand as one of the weakest team in the KPL having survived the axe last season the last minutes.

  • WE ARE EXTREMELY PROUD OF YOU BOYS!

It is always a great honour to play for your country.

When Gatusso and Ochieng were named by coach Kimanzi to the national team that will take on Togo in the next few hours, it is should be appreciated that the two boys merited the call up. Whether they be in the starting line up or not, it is the prerogative of the coach.

To play alongside Emannuel Adabayor of Tottenhum is an evengreater honor to the two lads who are also aspiring to join the paid ranks. if at all Gatusso will make to the starting 11 this evening, then it will be a golden chance for him to silence his critics especially the Gor Mahia lot who confronted him after losing the penalty during the Muhoroni Youth – Gor clash at the Nyayo national stadium last week.

I take this early opportunity to wish the two boys well in their national duty. consequently, I also wish the national team, Harambee Stars success this evening. What a shame by Mariga not play for his country just because KFA owe him peanuts! I do hope coach Francis Kimanzi and the country is watching him. Pay him his due and forget him.

MARIGA WE SUPPORT YOUR ACTIONS AGAINST IMPUNITY BY FKL

Mariga your decision to snub the national duty a due to failure by FKL to commit themselves in refunding your air-ticket is quite in order. Patriotism do not mean that you surrender you hard earned money to hyenas like Nyamweya and Aduda in the name of national duty.

Ask who ever is accusing you of blackmailing the team to put themselves into your shoe and you will be shocked at how they will have reacted.

For how long will players be victimized by this corrupt, inept and confused official who major achievement in the office is how to swindle cash meant for career footballer in to their pockets.

  • Gor players are very so overrated. This season’s buys were done out of desperation. George Bwana was playing to fans tunes. They have gone quiet without informing us where other players are or how they are doing with their injuries. Look at the forward of Ingwe Wanga, Bageya, Barasa and Victor Ochieng. Its lethal. We will be in for roasting! They got the best defence no wonder they have not conceded a goal. Masika and Nahimana. It will be difficult to beat that with Matasi in goal. Lets pull our socks.

  • Guys, let’s not be turncoats. What makes a player be overated when only a few months ago the EC could have no peace because you wanted the same players. Let’s not have short memories. I hope some of us commenting here could go and watch other games apart from those of GM. Have watched most of the matches and I don’t see any difference between those teams we praise and our team. Ingwe isn’t any better than us player-wise. All they have are things going their way and a pro-active office. I wonder what magic we have that will stop our performance from dipping as we go head-on with the EC. @JB, please hold your horses. We voted and like they say you make your bed and sleep on it. @Eblazing our game will be a derby and if you watched last week Arsenal/Tottenham a derby is never decided by form. I assure you that we will beat them. They will be under pressure to beat us and hence their waterloo. Let’s not forget that patience has taken Ingwe to where they are now. Not forgetting the hands-on nature and rewards for wins from their chair. All the same GM is ours and we will rise soon and shame all the doubting Thomases

Let’s tell the truth Our Chairman may well learned unlike the Ingwe Maasai but the motivation of the Maasai to his players and fans is so very high.At many times you will see him visit his players in training, chart with them making jokes and encouraging them and reward them with cash when they win.GM on the other hand, are more motivated by their cheering fans than the EC.

Lets not have little confidence in our team and rather compare with ingwe.Gm has different management from ingwe ,most of Gor mahia players responds very well with fans motivation and not money.I believe the players are still young and building them morally is well as good with the stated amount they normally get.We normally have better game compare to leopards when it comes to derby,

  • JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL IN THE END

Thanks alot comrade arruntiddi for your concern.
While I do not want to go to the nittty gritty of the case, I will appear again on 10/04/2012.
I am confident justice will prevail in the end.

As a public service, I have come face to face with grabisiosis. A man wanted to grab my property by fencing it. When I stopped, his workers from digging a pit latrine, he went forth and forged a P3 form which is being used to tramp charges against me.

I will keep you updated on this case. While it has nothing to do with this blog, I am however indebted to share with you because you have become part of a bigger family. I have also used my case to encourage my beloved K’ogalo to remain strong even when they face Ferroviaro while they were at Maputo.
