Rachier ready to defend chairmanship as club unveils sponsors
Most chairmen with Ambrose Rachier’s record would be re-elected unopposed. But Rachier will be facing some opposition when the club elections take place at a yet to be disclosed date. Among the people who have been fronted to challenge Rachier are Susan Mboya, wife of Governor Kidero, Chris Omondi who was elected secretary general last time and the ever present Adede who challenged Adede last time. ButRachier is undettered.
“I still have unfinished business with this great club and top of my priority is to fight hooliganism. We now have a sponsor and I cannot imagine the same sponsor running away because of hooligans. I can assure you that the issue of hooliganism will be a thing of the past when I return to office for another term”
Rachier was speaking at the unveiling of the kit sponsor puma and the shirt sponsor Sportpesa.

The event was graced by club legends such as Allan Thigo who challenged the current group of players to live up to the standards expected at the club.
“In my time we did not have this kind of money yet we still performed well because of our love for the club. Therefore there is no reason why the current players cannot perform well.”
Club patron Raila Odinga urged companies to emulate sportpesa
“I want compannies to sponsor community teams instead of starting their own” said Raila.
Raila also urged the fans to shun hooliganism.
“Hooliganism is what keeps sponsors away.
Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri urged fans to shun hooliganism
“It is not up to fans to take action when they disagree with a referee’s decision. It is up to the officials”
Rachier for his part promised to end hooliganism.

As the incumbent you have every right to defend your seat, and apart from Susan Mboya am not sure about the rest…First things fast, you are talking about accountability is this the first time you realized there should have been accountability in the first place…and what do you mean by the same if you cannot tell how much money you have received from the sponsors? Mr chairman stop taking us for granted!!!!
We all know ingwe is getting 45 million per year for 5 years amounting to a total sponsorship package of 225 million. In Gor all we hear is a 5 year sponsorship package of an Undisclosed Amount which is more lucrative than the Afc Leopards deal because of out status as Champions. Now which accountability and transparency is AR talking about when even if hr presents audited books of account at the next AGM,against what are we supposed to gauge how well funds were utilized? Why the secrecy, what harm did disclosing leopards package cause?Something shadowy is taking place as it should not be a secret, even information on sponsorshop packages for established teams like Arsenal and Barcelona are readily available on their Websites…
Hapo kweli
Hooliganism is not a project,we are still waiting for the stadium.
And we are still yearning for yet transparency
As fans we should be stressing for a new constitution in line with the new sports act. Getting new office bearers for the sake will not help us. How sure are we that some are vying due to the sponsorship money? If our goons mess up with the sponsorship will they still be there? With a new sponsorship it will not matter who is the chair but we need to really check out who vies for what
Everyone now wants a share of GM.sponsors, fans, contestants, politician oh!sorry I mean coach Nattul.where were all this “friend’s” when AR was busy rescuing GM from relegation?AR should call election now whitewash these guys and get to serious business.
coachatt,
Gor belong to everyone.
6 years were more than enough to do what you are talking about, thanks for what you have done and Susan do what you have failed to do
Sani we should be talking how are we going to sloughter gweno, united we stand devided we fall, just for the sake of game yetu na ogwang,is jausenge in agood mood and fit for the game as ihad from other sources,if so give him this game, its Obwaka style in sudan 1985.the only thing that am sure about waloyo ogwang.
We need fresh blood in Gor Mahia to move forward and take the club to greater heights. We appreciate all what AR has achieved but lack of accountability, lack of processes as well as putting proper structures in the club has been the chairman main undoings. He has failed to share with us financial reports and instill discipline in the EC, where we have errant boys like Kilo, Ngala, Orowe, etc have been busy with gate collection and unofficial sale of merchadises.
