The Ugandan striker reveals to Goal he is very happy at the league champions and has no intentions of ditching club for AFC Leopards’ this transfer window

Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia striker Dan Sserunkuma has ruled out any chance of playing for rivals AFC Leopards’.

Reacting to reports that Leopards’ are preparing a sensational bid for his and Rama Salim’s signatures, the Ugandan forward said: “I don’t see myself ever playing for Leopards’ because of the rivalry between the two clubs.

“It would look like a betrayal to Gor Mahia and furthermore, I have a contract and I am happy here. I enjoy everything at Gor Mahia from the passionate fans to the way we play and I have no intentions of leaving K’Ogalo soon,” the pint-sized striker told Goal.

Last week, AFC Leopards’ vice-chairman Patrick Ngaira said they are preparing bids for Sserunkuma and Salim to boost their squad.

The two have been an integral part of Gor Mahia’s success in the last two seasons and Ingwe are looking to lure them to cross the success over to the den. Rama’s six month contract at Gor Mahia has expired while Sserunkuma still has six months to run in his current contract with K’Ogalo.

“We are talking to both players’ to see whether they can come. We are looking for a player to fill gap left by Allan Wanga and we think Sserunkuma is a good bet. Rama is also a very good player and his coordination with Sserunkuma can be key for us,” Ngaira intimated to Goal.

Danny, God will reward you tremendously. As a Gor fan i believe you will remain one of our legends. Whenever we mention players like Dawo your name will also feature therein.

All the same we wish Daddy and Rama the best in case the reports of them going to SA are true.

Afc leopards we simply engaging Gor Mahia in mind games prior to last weekends football match based on Gor Mahi’s current weak financial position. It seems it worked in their favour. Otherwise I don’t think they are serious about signing Rama Salim and Dan sserunkuma . Mind games and nothing more.

    Sserunkuma is an intelligent fellow.

Now I just wish the EC of this club was as intelligent.

  • Ssere….you need to look out for yourself and forget the business of betrayal. Didn’t Gor betray one of your colleagues when he had an injured nose that need surgeryTrust me when I say that they can also betray you. Sir look out for yourself.

  • Joe I support your comment. The big let down is the Ec. No one deem to bother. No one is coming out to tell us what is happening nor the fillef gaps. Other teams are busy beefing up. Let no one cheat us that we do not have money. I have adviced this office by writing on the many avenues we have not exploited of getting money but no one seem to care.
The so called CEO has nothing new to offer. Why was he send packing by Nyamweya??? Surely we are destined for doom if nothing is done.
Im intererested to know if the players are being paid, how much we have raised from 350100 and lastly whom we are bringing inI

  • From goal.com”…………Gor Mahia midfielders Rama Salim and Kevin Omondi will leave the country on Saturday for South Africa where they are expected to begin professional careers.
The two players will depart immediately after their Kenyan Premier League match against Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) at Kasarani.

According to Gor Mahia Deputy Secretary General Anima Okech, the club received requests from the two to be release after Saturday’s match.

“They came to office and informed us that they will be leaving for South Africa after Saturday’s match. We are resigned to losing them and have to begin looking for other options.”

It is not yet clear which club Rama (Salim) is headed to but Kevin Omondi attended trials at South African top side Ajax Cape Town two months ago. The absence of the two will be a major set-back for Gor Mahia as they seek to defend Kenyan Premier League title this season.

K’Ogalo have already lost midfield maestro Anthony ‘Teddy’ Akumu, who has been loaned to to Sudanese outfit Khartoum National. Kenga, has also rejoined his former club bandari and the question remains with all the financial troubles, whether this is the beginning of the end for the once great club.

  • @Jathur gi ji,
jaupanda is alive. A man who accepts pain is a real man than the one who denies. Am pained at what am reading and in fact it takes an iron heart to stand. I still think though that with the K’Ogalo family resolve, we will endure. I wish I could start some sought of rumor but it is not my strength. Jathur gi ji out of all the trying moments will come out something good. Then we will be called Chuma liet. See you on saturday.
