And this time KRA has gone ahead and frozen the Gor Mahia bank account. This according to a report on Citizen sports. \u00a0At issue is a tax bill of Ksh 129 million which KRA claims that Gor Mahia owes.\u00a0It is difficult to imagine that Gor Mahia owe that kind of money given that the club barely meets its obligations towards paying players. Also it is highly unlikely that other clubs and sports organizations are compliant with KRA. So why are they constantly singling out Gor Mahia?<\/p>\n<p>Additional Reporting from Citizen Sports<\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia are starring at yet another round of financial quagmire after the tax-man Kenya Revenue Authority froze the club bank\u2019s account at the Development Bank over a Ksh. 129 million tax arrears.<\/p>\n<p><em>Citizen Digital<\/em> understands that the tax-man took the drastic measure this week.<\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia\u2019s deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala declined to talk on the matter: \u201cI can\u2019t comment on that issue at the moment, please look for the chairman.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When reached for comment, club boss Ambrose Rachier said that he had received a phone call from the bank\u2019s Managing Director that there was a letter from KRA\u2019s Income Tax Department though \u201che wasn\u2019t sure\u201d of its contents.<\/p>\n<p>Said Rachier: \u201cWell, I have not seen the letter but I\u2019ve been called by the bank\u2026I would plead with you that I see the letter. Wait until tomorrow then we can talk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rachier, when asked whether there had been correspondence between the club and the tax-man before the startling decision was made, said: \u201cWe really had nothing (no correspondence)\u00a0at all .
