After the match he was full of praise for three of his charges who played in the match.

On Joash Onyango, he said that the tackle that earned him a red card was necessary.

“I thought they were fantastic. Joash had to make that tackle. I have just been in the dressing room and I told him not to feel sorry. You made that tackle. You got red carded but you took one for the team. ” said Kerr.

Kerr was also full of praise for Kahata and Philemon Otieno.

“The players battled (after the team had been reduced to 10 men). Francis put in a great shift. Philemon unfortunately got injured in the first half and had to come off. But credit to my players. They had to dig deep to get that result.”

Kerr Supports Migne’s call for professionalism

Harambee stars coach Sebastian Migne if furious about the lack of ‘professionalism’ in Kenyan football after Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama and 13 other players failed to show up for the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Ghana despite calling up a big provisional squad of 38 players.

Asked whether he supports Migne’s sentiments, Kerr said: “He’s got to understand that this is Kenya. This is how Kenyan football is. There are a lot of hard-working people, both in KPL and FKF. They are trying to make football here…it’s called professionalism. That has always been what we want. We sometimes find it hard to get.” he said to goal.com

Kerr blamed the KPL for his sides’ elimination from the CAF Confederations cup

“We lost a chance in Confederation because we were tired and were demanding that games get canceled, but it was going on deaf ears so I can understand his (Migne) issue, but that’s why we are here to try and change the mentality, try to help and progress going forward,”

“We are both football coaches and we want what’s best for the country and my club. If we work together and we have a plan-we make it more professional, then kids will grow up and they will understand what’s like to be a professional player and that’s what we ask. Be honest, be professional.” he continued

Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr attended the match between Harambee stars and the Ghana Black stars.
