{"id":146,"date":"2011-05-12T00:52:01","date_gmt":"2011-05-12T00:52:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/?p=146"},"modified":"2011-07-09T02:16:55","modified_gmt":"2011-07-09T02:16:55","slug":"gor-mahia-hold-sofapaka","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/news\/gor-mahia-hold-sofapaka\/","title":{"rendered":"Gor Mahia hold Sofapaka"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Displaying an improved performance in comparison to their performance against Bandari, Kogalo held Sofapaka to a goal-less draw in a midweek floodlit match at the Nyayo stadium on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Sofapaka, who were buoyed by their recent success at continental level were quick to go on the offensive in the 1st half with Bob Mugalia, John Baraza and Patrick Kagogo forcing a series of fine saves from Jerim Onyango in the Kogalo goal.\u00a0 The enigmatic Onyango is an excellent shot stopper when he is on game. But he is prone to some howlers. On Wednesday however, Jerim was on top of his game. Collins Okoth made a return and showed that he had not missed a beat, putting on a good display.<\/p>\n<p>Kogalo were the more adventurous side in the second half especially with the introduction of Kevin Omondi who of late has assumed the role of super-sub. It was lively new signing, Moses Odhiambo who had the best chance after being put through by Lavatsa. But with only the keeper to beat, he shot wide.<\/p>\n<p>It was a lively game certainly not worth a goal-less tie. Kogalo seem to be able to raise their game when they play against good teams but show inconsistency against the likes of Chemelil, Rangers and Congo United. Go figure.
