They hammered arch rivals AFC Leopards 4-1. Just when many pundits were starting to write off the Kogalo season, the playing unit proved them wrong. For coach Polack, a big win as he silenced the critics who have been saying he lacks tactical savvy.

Additional reporting from futaa.com

Gislein Yikpe scored a brace as Gor Mahia emerged 4-1 winners over arch-rivals AFC Leopards in the Mashemeji Derby hosted at the MISC Kasarani on Sunday 10 November.

Leopards had come to the game buoyed by some good result and it was no surprise when they cornered their hosts in the first half.

John Mark Makwatta was to be brought down in the box by defender
Joash Onyango but the referee refused to award a penalty in what amazed
the entire Leopards bench and fans. They came knocking again in the
closing stages of the half after defender Soter Kayumba was to see his
header from a corner come off the upright.

Makwatta Threat

The half was to end with another effort from Makwatta being gathered
by keeper David Mapigano after some crisp play from the Cassa Mbungo
boys.
