{"id":15783,"date":"2020-04-10T12:03:28","date_gmt":"2020-04-10T12:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/?p=15783"},"modified":"2020-04-10T12:04:42","modified_gmt":"2020-04-10T12:04:42","slug":"gor-mahia-set-to-lose-key-players","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/news\/gor-mahia-set-to-lose-key-players\/","title":{"rendered":"Gor Mahia set to lose key players"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone \" src=\"http:\/\/gormahia.net\/images\/team-20.jpg\" width=\"942\" height=\"624\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A report in the Daily Nation suggests that players are set to leave the club due to financial hardships<\/p>\n<p>Additional reporting from the Nation<\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia are on the verge of losing four key senior players.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><em>Nation Sport<\/em> has established that the four are no longer interested in playing for Gor Mahia and intent to leave the club at the end of this season.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The four, who spoke on condition of anonymity for fear of being victimised while still under contract and with the season yet to end, said their decision would not change even if Gor Mahia secured a major shirt sponsor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The players said they were fed up with Gor Mahia repeatedly failing to meet its financial obligation to the squad members and it was better for them to look for greener pastures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cIt has been tough at Gor Mahia since the sponsorship of SportPesa ended. I can\u2019t blame the club management for the current financial woes but as a player, I have dependents whom I have to look after.
