Gor Mahia are set to lose another player to Simba SC of Dar es Salaam<\/p>\n

Harambee Stars defender Joash Onyango is close to securing a lucrative move to Tanzanian champions Simba SC, Nation Sport can reveal.<\/p>\n
The Gor Mahia defender has agreed on personal terms with the Wekundu Wa Msimbazi and is set to put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal in the coming days.<\/p>\n
“He was owed a lot of money by Gor Mahia and put in a demand letter to them that went unanswered. He then served notice as is required and commenced negotiations with Simba who have always been interested in his services,” a source told Nation Sport.<\/p>\n
“Simba has moved with speed to secure his services and he is expected in Dar es Salaam next week. He is happy and looking forward to starting afresh in Tanzania.”<\/p>\n
At Simba, Joash will join his former Gor Mahia teammates Francis Kahata and Meddie Kagere who played an integral part for the Tanzanian champions in the just concluded season .<\/p>\n
Simba won the league title, Domestic Cup and the Azam Federation Cup and are eager to do well in the Caf Champions League next season, hence the need to add experienced players to boost their squad.<\/p>\n
Onyango joined Gor Mahia in 2017 from Western Stima and won the coveted Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award at the end of the 2018\/19 season.<\/p>\n
Gor Mahia are struggling to keep the star players due to financial challenges.<\/p>\n
The team recently lost goalkeeper David Mapigano to Tanzanian moneybags Azam FC while the duo of speedy forward Boniface Omondi and custodian Peter Odhiambo has joined Wazito.<\/p>\n
There is yet another report of Muguna leaving Kogalo. This time to the Angolan league where he is set to follow the footsteps of Jacque Tuyisenge<\/p>\n

Gor Mahia captain Kenneth Muguna is close to sealing a move to Girabola where he will turn out for Petro Atletico.<\/p>\n
The midfielder has been subject to discussion in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) and initially, he had been linked with a move to Tanzania Mainland League champions Simba SC.<\/p>\n
However, this might not be the case as the latest reports indicate the Kenya international is heading Central Africa.

“Talks are in an advanced stage, and it is as good as done, Muguna is going to Petro Atletico,” a source close to the player told Goal on Friday.<\/p>\n
“Both parties have reached an agreement and official communication will be made soon. Muguna is keen on playing abroad, and the Angolan side has provided him the platform to exploit his talent.”<\/p>\n
When reached for comment, club chairman Ambrose Rachier admitted there was contact but not from the abovementioned side.<\/p>\n
“Yes, there is a team that came and inquired about the availability of Muguna some time back,” the experienced administrator told Goal.<\/p>\n
“However, we have not heard from them again, I do not know whether they are still interested or not. But once they come back and present an offer, we will be public on it.<\/p>\n
“Maybe they have approached Muguna, but as a club, no we have not had recent inquiries regarding the player.”<\/p>\n
British coach Steven Polack claimed in an initial interview with Goal that he is not aware of whether captain Muguna has asked to leave the club or not.<\/p>\n
“You are asking about Muguna, what about him?\u201d Polack posed a question.<\/p>\n
“I have not been told that the player wants to leave, I have not heard anything, I don\u2019t think he wants to leave, he has not talked to me\u2026and no club official has told me that [Muguna] wants to leave.<\/p>\n
“I only heard about this several months ago and it cooled down, maybe they have again started the same rumours, anyway I don\u2019t know anything about Muguna, we are just relaxing at home now that we cannot play football and waiting for the way forward on when football will return.”

K’Ogalo will be taking part in the Caf Champions League after being declared champions for the 2019-20 campaign after the league was ended owing to the coronavirus pandemic, and will also chase the league and domestic Cup titles.<\/p>\n
“We are talking to players, we are talking to a few players and let us see what will happen, but I am not going to give out their names because our rivals will jump for their services,” Polack continued.<\/p>\n
“We are talking to players in the Kenyan league, we are talking to a lot of Kenyan players and I will not give you the names or positions, just know we are in talks with several players and the talks are very positive for now.”<\/p>\n
