{"id":16154,"date":"2020-08-25T17:53:40","date_gmt":"2020-08-25T17:53:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/?p=16154"},"modified":"2020-08-25T19:03:41","modified_gmt":"2020-08-25T19:03:41","slug":"report-tito-okello-is-in-nairobi-for-contract-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/news\/report-tito-okello-is-in-nairobi-for-contract-talks\/","title":{"rendered":"Tito Okello arrives for talks as Balinya leaving for KCCA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reports suggest that Ugandan talisman Tito Okello arrived in Nairobi to discuss a contract with Gor Mahia<\/p>\n<p>Additional reporting from Kawowo Sports<br \/>\nStriker Tito Okello arrived in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi on Monday, 24th August 2020 prior to the official unveiling at Kenya Premier League giants Gor Mahia Sports Club.<\/p>\n<p>The development followed the collapse of talks between the forward and Vipers management for a possible extension of the contract.<\/p>\n<p>He then had to weigh the different options presented to him before making the decision to travel to Kenya.<\/p>\n<p>The hardworking forward had earlier played at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), BUL, and had a spell at Tanzania\u2019s African Lyon.<\/p>\n<p>When Tito Okello is finally unveiled at Gor Mahia, he will join the swelling list of Ugandans to have featured at Kenya\u2019s most successful club.<\/p>\n<p>Okello won the 2019-20 Uganda Premier League title with Vipers, in a season that was abruptly ended with five matches to play because of the deadly Coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>He is best remembered for the hat-trick scored against BUL during Vipers 3-2 victory away at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.<\/p>\n<p>Others in the recent times are; Jimmy Bageya, Godfrey Walusimbi, Daniel Muzeyi Sserunkuma, Khalid Aucho, Erisa Ssekisambu, Hashim Ssempala, Juma Balinya among others.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Balinya departs to KCCA<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/gormahia.net\/images\/balinya-celeb-nzoia-20.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As one Ugandan striker arrives, another one is set to leave.<\/p>\n<p>Juma Balinya who stated that his stay at the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) record champions was dependent on the improvement of the club\u2019s financial health, and who was rumoured to be joining Azam, then Asante Kotoko, has now joined KCCA of Uganda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou know he had already given conditions to the club and it is clear he has decided not to return,\u201d a source close to the player confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is in advanced talks with KCCA and he will be unveiled soon as the two parties are in positive talks now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia signed the former UPL top scorer from Young Africans (Yanga SC) at a time they were experiencing financial turmoil.
