{"id":162,"date":"2011-07-05T12:59:23","date_gmt":"2011-07-05T12:59:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/?p=162"},"modified":"2011-07-05T13:28:25","modified_gmt":"2011-07-05T13:28:25","slug":"gor-mahia-to-feature-in-fkl-cup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/news\/gor-mahia-to-feature-in-fkl-cup\/","title":{"rendered":"Gor Mahia to feature in FKL cup"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There seems to have been a change in direction amongst many KPL clubs including our own Kogalo. 5 days ago, Sofapaka Chairman Elly Kalekwa announced that KPL clubs had unanimously agreed to boycott the FKL cup including those that had already started to play.<\/p>\n<p>However in a dramatic reversal , the club has decided to play and will face Timsales FC this Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to deputy Secretary Ronald Ngala, the club\u2019s executive committee met early Monday and\u00a0decided to compete due to fan pressure, \u201cThe fans play a great role in running and shaping our club and we cannot go against them. They have demanded that they want to see the team in the FKL tournament.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Out of nine KPL clubs that had registered for the tourney, only Bandari and Thika United honoured their weekend matches while Tusker and Karuturi Sports opted to boycott their home fixtures.
