Gor Mahia secretary general Sam Ocholla says he used his own money to secure the release of the Uniforms that were launched last week. He also vows to expose cartels whom he claims are controlling the club’s finances.<\/p>\n

The club official claimed he had to use his own money to enable the team to receive the new uniforms that were launched on Friday<\/p>\n

Gor Mahia secretary-general Sam Ochola has revealed he had to dig into his pockets in order to secure the release of the club\u2019s 2020-21 Macron jerseys.<\/p>\n

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League side launched the new colours on Friday ahead of the season-opening game against Ulinzi Stars.<\/p>\n

Ochola, who is not seeing eye-to-eye with chairman Ambrose over the StarTimes broadcasting deal, has now revealed the new jerseys were released after it had been withheld due to pending payment.

\u201cHow can the kits land in Kenya and the chairman is not aware?\u201d Ochola asked during an interview with Goal. \u201cThe kits had been held and I had to clear some money in order for them to be realised.<\/p>\n

\u201cI offered to give out a bit of my money in order for them to be cleared finally.\u201d<\/p>\n

The official claimed the treasurer Dolfina Adhiambo had targeted to sell the kits through a shop in Nairobi, a decision he opposed and was ultimately shelved.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know she had opened a shop in town where she wanted to sell the merchandise but I said no to that. The fans can now get them through Jumia [an online shop],\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n

Ochola\u2019s comments come after the former secretary-general Ben Omondi claimed the Macron jerseys are fake and urged the club\u2019s supporters not to purchase them.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Macron kits being paraded are fake, stop wasting your money buying them,\u201d he claimed as new revelations over the home and away kits are coming out.<\/p>\n

Omondi also stated he will soon reveal more about bank accounts that are run by what he referred to as “cartels”.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have so far flagged off the National Bank, ABSA and ADB accounts operated by cartels and more to come. I did my job as given by you the people through the ballot. Where did I err then?” he asked.<\/p>\n

Gor Mahia started their FKF PL 2020-21 campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 win against Ulinzi Stars on Saturday.<\/p>\n

As the top management remains embroiled in administrative conflicts, the team ensured they saw off APR of Rwanda in the Caf Champions League to progress to the first round.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile Gor Mahia have severed ties with Brazilian Roberto Goncalves after he was ruled ineligible to stand on the touchline in CAF matches.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe coach left early this week, right now we are still looking for a replacement because there is no use of having a coach who has no papers,\u201d Ochola told Goal on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to save money for Gor Mahia and we cannot keep on having a foreign coach who does not have papers trying to coach the club, so we have told him to go home and when he gets his papers he can come back, but for now we are trying to engage Sammy \u2019Pamzo\u2019 Omollo until things are sorted out.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked whether they are working to engage Omollo for continental assignment only or on a full-time basis, Ochola said: \u201cWe are talking to him [Pamzo], to help us in continental and we are also seeking to have him on a full-time basis.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 60-year-old tactician arrived at the Kenyan champions on October 10, replacing Steven Polack, who had left the club on mutual agreement.<\/p>\n

However, despite preparing the team in readiness for Caf Champions League and the resumption of the FKF Premier League, Oliveira, who has 25 years of coaching experience and has been to a number of African countries as head coach, even in the Middle East as well as Brazil, was banned by Caf from sitting on the touchline over his qualifications.<\/p>\n

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) also moved to ban the coach from handling the team in the top-flight and it forced Gor Mahia to hire Omollo of Posta Rangers, and he was in charge as they beat APR of Rwanda 4-3 on aggregate to advance to the second preliminary round of the Champions League.<\/p>\n

Oliveira was on record to have defended himself over the allegations by stating: \u201cListen I don\u2019t talk this about this story, but I prefer to talk about my players and my preparations and because two years or three years ago, I work in the Champions League with Rayon Sports in Rwanda,” Oliveira told reporters after the team\u2019s friendly against Posta Rangers.<\/p>\n
