However it was not to be. Mathere United played well and gave Kogalo a lot to think about especially in the first half. Goalkeeper Jerim Onyango made several saves as Mathare launched a series of raids on the Kogalo goal. Anthony Akumu who had found a niche as a defensive midfielder has of late appeared uncomfortable as a defender where he is now fielded. Mathare deserved a share of the spoils. This is unlike last week when Gor Mahia dominated over Thika. Meanwhile Moses Odhiambo was as enterprising as usual.

In the second half, coach Zico Otieno brought on Hajji Mwachoki, Kevin Omondi and Ezekiel Odera for Dan Makori, Lavatsa and Selenga. The tide turned and Kogalo started to dominate the match. They lauched several attacks but lacked sharpness in front of goal. The forwardline needs a lot of sharpening and it is the one area coach Zico should focus on. Make these people practice their finishing.

Gor Mahia are still in 5th position, five points behind the league leaders.

Kogalo were yet again held to a draw by Mathare.
