They won the first leg 4-2 in Sudan. They then inexplicably lost 1-0 at home, thus starting a strange tradition of performing better away from home than at home. A pattern that would continue for decades. They however proceeded after winning 4-3 on aggregate.<\/p>\n<p>In the quarter-finals, they played Ismailia of Egypt. They lost the first leg 3-1 in Egypt before drawing 1-1 in Nairobi, thus going out 4-2 on aggregate.
