The hosts had very high hopes after unexpectedly holding Gor Mahia to a draw in Kenya.

Anse Reunion coach Juel Ah-Kong: “Gor Mahia were much superior than my team and they made it very difficult for my team especially as they scored early and we just could not cope with them. However, this competition served as a good experience for my team and we hope we will learn from this experience.”

Roderick Rose of Anse Reunion: “Gor Mahia are a very strong team with better technical players and we lacked a holding midfielder.
