The team played without a number of regulars who are away with the national team. How they agreed to do this is amazing as the results could easily have gone south.

Finlays had taken the lead in the 1st minute but the goal was disallowed for offside. It was a second half strike by defender Chris Wekesa that gave Kogalo the win. The goal came from a Moses Odhiambo assist. The match saw the happy return of Duncan Owiti Macheda who came on in the second half to replace Demonde Selenga.

Kogalo are now in the semis where they will face either Congo United or arch rivals AFC Leopards. In normal circumstances, fans would see an encounter with Ingwe as a chance for revenge. But with the club in dissaray and no concrete steps being taken to right the ship, most fans might not be looking forrward to another encounter unless they start to see some improvements. Still, the FKL cup now represents the only chance Kogalo has to play continental football so fans will be hoping for the best.

Gor Mahia sailed past Finlays of Naivasha in an FKL match played at the Karuturi sports ground at Naivasha.
