Gor Mahia have criticized Ulinzi Stars\u2019 protest over excess fielding of foreign players during last Wednesday\u2019s Kenyan Premier League [KPL] Top Eight knock-out clash at Nyayo National Stadium.<\/p>\n
The Soldiers were edged out 4-2 on post-match penalties, but after the match, they filed a petition claiming K\u2019ogalo breached the tournament\u2019s rules by fielding four foreign players namely Ivo Mapunda (Tanzanian) and Ugandan trio of Dan Serunkuma, Ivan Anguyo and Israel Emuge, an excessive of one.<\/p>\n
It was the second meeting<\/a> between the two sides this season, with Ulinzi having beaten Gor 2-0 in a league match two weeks ago.<\/p>\n However, Vice Chairman Faiz Ochieng has termed their petition as petty and said that it\u2019s not the first time the Military side is complaining after losing to Gor Mahia.<\/p>\n \u201cUlinzi Stars are being very petty. These issues were discussed in the pre match meetings and nobody raised the issue of our foreign players. They had our squad list and there representative didn\u2019t complain about it before the match,\u2019\u2019 said Ochieng.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are used to their protests. Two weeks ago they beat us in the league; we never complained about anything but whenever we defeat them there is always issues.<\/p>\n \u201cIn the last three Top Eight matches we have played against them issues have always cropped up. Therefore, their protests will not distract our preparations for the next<\/a> matches.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t \n\t\t\t <\/div><\/div>\n\t\t
