Gor Mahia are hoping to retain this trophy which they won last year by beating Ulinzi Stars 2-0 in the final. Meanwhile Tusker will be seeking to avenge the loss they suffered to Kogalo in the Supercup match earlier this year.<\/p>\n<p>On the positive side, Gor Mahia seem to have recovered their scoring touch. And for 45 minutes on Saturday, they seemed to have regained the imperious form that took them from relegation candidates at the beginning of last season to second place. However the last 45 minutes of the Muhoroni match were dismal. Coach Logarusic admitted as much. \u201cWe did not play well in the second half against Muhoroni. Our current level isn\u2019t good it and we have to improve against Tusker. They are a good side and we have a lot of respect for them,\u201d Logarusic told the Nation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warmup for the Mashemeji derby<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gor mahia may use this match to warm up for the crucial weekend encounter against arch rivals AFC leopards. However Logarusic has indicated that his focus will be on the Tusker match. \u201cWe face Tusker before Leopards and my philosophy has always been to take a game at a time and therefore our total focus is on how to beat the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions,\u201d Logarusic told supersport.com.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, Logarusic may prudently decide to rest key players ahead of the derby and give opportunities to players like Gathu &#8220;Gaucho&#8221;, Ivo Mapunda, David Otieno, Moses Otieno and Abbey Natty.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Former team-mate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia will have to contend with former club player Collins Okoth who last year shocked fans by announcing his retiremengt from football after being sidelined by Sofapaka. &#8220;Gattuso&#8221; has settled well at Tusker and expresses no regrets about leaving Gor Mahia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompared to Gor Mahia the pressure at Tusker is on the pitch and this is good because it pushes one to become better.
