Following the departure of Croation coach Zdravko Logarusic , the Standard did a report on some of the clashes between Logarusic and the Gor Mahia executive committee.<\/p>\n
According to the Standard there are still several officials whp are keen on benefiting financially through backdoor deals where undersrving players are brought into the playing unit so that certain officials can get a cut of the transfer fee.<\/p>\n
Logarusic was a kind of a coach who would not be manipulated or intimidated by club officials and \u2018influential\u2019 fans like they used to do to the former coach Anaba Awono who could not be given room to even select his desired team to play.<\/p>\n
Under his reign, team selection was not done in favours like in the previous cases where some players were allegedly fielded on favouritism grounds despite missing training for days. Logarusic\u2019s selection was based on pure performance on the pitch.<\/p>\n
He had full control on the playing unit and instilled discipline. His authoritative character is what Gor needed but that\u2019s one thing some individuals could not accept and so the rift continued.<\/p>\n
The climax of it all was witnessed when he turned down the signing of the much hyped and overrated Brazilian player Rodriguez who could not fit in the team by all means. Logarusic did not hesitate to show him the door after just few days of training with the team.<\/p>\n
Threats on text messages and social media from \u2018unknown\u2019 people were sent to the coach with the main message being, if he doesn\u2019t accept the Brazilian in the team, he will have to leave the club.<\/p>\n
The Croat being who is, stood his ground and struck the name of the Rodriguez from his team when he had already been included. That\u2019s was an act, which again rubbed the salt to the wounds of some club officials and \u2018influence\u2019 fans who were allegedly keen to get their cut of signing fee.<\/p>\n
He again pulled another rude one on Abbey Natty who was signed by \u2018unknown\u2019 agents from Muhoroni Youth. He reduced his two years contract to six months and then later released him because the player was not worth being at Gor and his signing was done under unclear circumstances.<\/p>\n
