A goal in each half by Edwin Lavatsa saw Kenya through. The first goal came when Lavatsa received a cross from Aboud Omar in the Swazi box, and fired into the net leaving keeper Nhlanhhla Gwebu hapless.

The second goal occured in the 54th minute. Once again it was Omar who did the spadework. His cross was met by Peter Opiyo whose shot was deflected. Lavatsa pounced on the rebound to score again.

Paul Kiongera who scored in the opening game came close in the 58th minute but his attempt off a cross was saved by the goalie. It was not all one way action. Jerim Onyango in the Harambee stars goal was called upon to make several saves. Also seeing action were Rama Salim, Anthony Akumu and David Owino.

One issue to worry about is the sheer number of games that these players are participating in within a short period. So far it has been 3 games in 3 days. That cannot be good especially for injury prone players.

There were six Gor Mahia players who saw action as Kenya beat Swaziland 2-0 in their second COSAFA cup group

[1

post-2711","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news
["GET
