\nLeague leaders Gor Mahia widened the gap at the top of the Tusker Premier Log to eight points with a deserved 3-0 win over Muhoroni Youth at City Stadium on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The boys in green showed early intent. Moses Odhiambo had the first real chance in the 17th minute. From a long cross, he controlled the ball well but his final loop was punched by the keeper. In the next move, Odhiambo turned provider to Kevin Omondi who was tackled by a Muhoroni defender before shooting.<\/p>\n
In the 26th minute, Muhoroni almost took the lead when Jeremiah Wanjala found space then unleashed a left foot shot that had keeper Jerim Onyango beaten but the crossbar stood between.<\/p>\n
The action quickly shifted to the other end where Kevin Omondi , in the 27th minute, missed an inviting chance to score after a perfect cross by Innocent Mutiso.<\/p>\n
Gor then won a free kick that Kevin Omondi executed well but the keeper punched then Eric Ochieng followed up to force a successive save from keeper Shaban Ouma.<\/p>\n
Seven minutes to the break, Kevin Omondi redeemed himself from the earlier misses with a close range opener from a rebound after the keeper had blocked Mungai Kiongera header.<\/p>\n
A minute to the break, Kiongera\u2019s free kick punched out for a corner by keeper Ouma.The low corner taken by Mutiso was easily cleared.<\/p>\n
Immediately after the break, Kevin Omondi set up Innocent Mutiso but the latter was guilty of side netting.<\/p>\n
Muhoroni Coach Imonje then decided to inject some creativity in his midfield by replacing Paul Mboya with James Maina.<\/p>\n
But it was Gor Mahia who continued to threaten. In the 54th minute, a harmless move almost turned dangerous when Kevin Omondi forced a ffine save on the near post.<\/p>\n
Ugandan Dan Sserunkuma came on for Kevin Omondi in the 63rd minute to a warm from the reception from the partisan crowd.<\/p>\n
With the heavens opened up, Gor Mahia, buoyed by thousands of fans won a corner in the 67th minute that Israel Emuge rose higher to head in and double the lead.<\/p>\n
Four minutes later, Paul Mungai Kiongera would close the scoring chapter with a calmly taken shot off a Moses Odhiambo cross. The goal ignited calls for Gor Mahia\u2019s arch-rivals and next opponents AFC Leopards who are also enjoying fine form.<\/p>\n
The win pushes Gor Mahia\u2019s tally to 40 points, 8 better than second placed Thika United after 20 matches.<\/p>\n
Muhoroni on the other hand are just two spots above relegation with 23 points from 21 matches.<\/p>\n
