The president went ahead to acknowledge the good work by players, the technical bench and the big role of Gor Mahia fans within football circles in Kenya.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The FIFA president also on behalf of the world football community commended the club for &#8221;excitement they bring to the fans of the football game&#8221; and wished the club all the best in in the CAF Champions League campaign.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As far as this write recalls, this is the first time a FIFA official is congratulating a Kenyan club for anything. Gor Mahia&#8217;s triumphant 2013 TPL victory has truly shaken all corners of the globe. Perhaps this is why fans refer to the club as &#8220;<em>Mayienga mayiengo piny<\/em>&#8221; i.e. an earthquake that shakes the whole world.<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<div><strong>Faiz takes issue with Sports Minister<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Additional reporting from futaa.com<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia want an apology from the Sports, Arts and Culture Cabinet Secretary Dr. Hassan Wario who the K\u2019Ogalo vice chairman Mr. Faiz Ochieng claims branded the club as hooligans in his speech at the KPL Awards gala on Wednesday 20 November.Dr. Wario, in his speech blasted the club\u2019s fans over acts of hooliganism witnessed during the GOtv Shield final game against AFC Leopards, placing the blame on them for the destruction seen on the day and called on the club management to seek ways of preventing a repeat.<b>Incitement <\/b>Faiz, however, notes that Dr. Wario\u2019s speech was not made in good intention, labeling it incitement and defended Gor Mahia fans from the claims, urging the minister to play a more conciliatory role that leveling blame.-I never took it positively coming from the minister and someone who should promote peace. That was incitement and he should come out and apologize to us. He badly generalized issues and I would like him to know that not everyone putting on a Gor Mahia jersey is a Gor Mahia fan.<b>Ill advised<\/b>-His statement at the event was ill advised and ill timed \u2013 that was a national and international event thus portraying Gor Mahia and Kenya in bad light; as a leader he should be careful when addressing the public \u2013 he should use sport to promote peace not incite.<\/p>\n<p>-It would have been better for him to call the stakeholders and talk to them as a leader rather than using the event to soil others\u2019 reputations, he told <i>futaa.com.<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Wario\u2019s speech was in reaction to Sam Nyamweya\u2019s.
