Confirming the developments, club deputy secretary general Ronald Ngala said the player will thereafter be allowed to pursue other interests should they arise.

Sources told futaa.com that the player has been released by his current Qatar based club Al-Markhiya SC having joined them in the midseason from Kogalo. Rama had joined the Qatari second tier side on a one season deal.

Gor Mahia fans will be hoping that Rama can recreate the dynamite partnership between himself and Sserunkuma which wreaked havoc against many opposing defences.

The reason for the 6 month deal is likely because Zdravko Logarusic and Simba had shown a keen interest in signing him but were foiled by the fact that the Tanzanian league transfer season ended on December 15 after Rama was available. Its a shame that Kenyan clubs cannot match the financial muscle of the top three Tanzanian clubs. Its up to us the fans and the officials to come together and chart ways to level the playing field against Tanzanian teams.

Kenga dismisses rumours

courtesy of goal.com

Bandari hit man reveals he has not held talks with Kenya Premier League champions on a possible move adding he has unfinished business with the dockers

Kenya Premier League side Bandari forward Shaban Kenga says he going nowhere despite reports linking him to a move to Gor Mahia.

Kenga has exclusively revealed to Goal that he is in Bandari to stay and disputed reports that he has opened talks with the Kenyan Premier League champions.

“No one has approached me from Gor Mahia and furthermore, I still have a contract with Bandari. I am focused on helping the team perform well this season and has resumed training with them.”

The player has been the subject of controversy between his club and Gor Mahia. Last week, Bandari Technical Director Edward Oduor insisted he is not for sale after reports emerged that Gor Mahia have opened talks to sign him.

“Kenga is one of our major players and we have no intention of selling him anytime. We are not here to expose players only for others to come and pick them. He still remains an integral part of our plans for next year,” Oduor told Goal on Saturday.

Kenga helped Bandari finish in a respectable sixth position. The team was promoted last season after two years in the lower ranks.

Walusimbi Joins camp

Ugandan left back Godfrey Walusimbi, who has signed a 2 year contract with Gor Mahia, has already joined the team’s camp in Oloitoktok.

Interestingly, Gor Mahia secretary George Bwana has also told michezoafrika.com that the team is finalizing talks to bring Shaban Kenga from Bandari. Bwana adds that what remains now is scouting for one more striker before concluding their signings ahead of the busy season.

There is still no firm word on George Odhiambo Blackberry who a week ago announced that he was eager to return to Gor Mahia. Remember Gor Mahia have already signed Jared Obwoge from Chemelil Sugar.

Lavatsa Leaving

courtesy of goal.com

Kenya Premier League champions Gor Mahia striker Edwin Lavatsa is scheduled to ditch the club after apparently declining to extend his contract.

Goal can reveal that the towering Lavatsa is headed for the Middle East to an undisclosed club. According to a source close to the player, everything has been agreed upon with the new club and the player is just awaiting travel documents to jet out.

“He will not be at Gor Mahia this season. He has received a lucrative offer which he cannot decline,” said our source. Contacted Gor Mahia Secretary General George Bwana confirmed that the player has declined to extend his contract.

“We were supposed to offer him a new deal two weeks ago but he has been dilly-dallying so there might be some truth in those reports. We have resigned to letting him go,” Bwana told Goal.

He confirmed that the club has tied former KCB hit man Paul Kiongera to a one year contract as well as returned Rama Salim on a loan spell. “Kiongera has agreed to a new deal while Salim is back as he thinks about his next move.”

According to futaa.com, Rama Salim is back in the club on a six momth contract.
