{"id":3608,"date":"2014-01-09T18:32:47","date_gmt":"2014-01-09T18:32:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/?p=3608"},"modified":"2014-01-23T14:01:08","modified_gmt":"2014-01-23T14:01:08","slug":"kenga-arrives-finally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/news\/kenga-arrives-finally\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenga arrives finally"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/sporton.nation.co.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Bandari-vs-AFC.jpg\" width=\"465\" height=\"282\" \/><\/p>\n<p>courtesy of futaa.com<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Kenyan Premier League (KPL) Champions Gor Mahia FC have completed the signing of Bandari FC winger Shaban Kenga on a six-month loan deal.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to reliable sources, the prolific winger travelled to Nairobi this afternoon to put pen to paper.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Gor Mahia Chairman Ambrose Rachier had to intervene after Bandari brushed off earlier attempts by Gor to sign the player and it is believed the player is now Gor&#8217;s most expensive acquisition in the current transfer window.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ingwe interest<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">An insider had revealed that AFC Leopards were also interested in his services and were ready to offer more than Gor but the KPL Champions improved their initial offer<\/p>\n<h3>Paul Odhiambo going on loan<\/h3>\n<p>Gor Mahia striker Paul Odhiambo, reported to be on his way out to Western Stima for a season long loan, has been billed to do well at the Kakamega side.<\/p>\n<p>Western Stima chairman Laban Jobita earlier confirmed the two clubs have agreed to have the player seal the move and he says it will be good for him since playing time at Gor Mahia is bound to be a challenge with the return of Rama Salim and George <i>Blackberry<\/i> Odhiambo.<\/p>\n<p><b>Regular play time<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Jobita says what the former Kakamega Homeboyz forward needs is regular playing time, which he could get at Stima.<\/p>\n<p>-He is a good striker though he found it hard commanding a starting berth in his first season at Gor Mahia. With Rama and <i>Blackberry<\/i> back he would find it even more difficult but I believe here he will get the much needed game time.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">offer.<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\">Gathu dropped<\/h3>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to supersport.com<\/p>\n<p>Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia FC have axed promising youngster Anthony Gathu.<\/p>\n<p>This has been confirmed by the club\u2019s vice chairperson, Mr Faiz Ochieng who says the lad was surplus to the requirements of the club in the upcoming season.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGathu is a very fine midfielder and definitely one that will do well in the future.
