{"id":3708,"date":"2014-01-18T16:00:06","date_gmt":"2014-01-18T16:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/?p=3708"},"modified":"2014-02-04T15:23:47","modified_gmt":"2014-02-04T15:23:47","slug":"gor-mahia-beat-supaloaf-in-friendly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/news\/gor-mahia-beat-supaloaf-in-friendly\/","title":{"rendered":"Gor Mahia beat Supaloaf in friendly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>courtesy of futaa.com<\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia FC send packing promoted Nairobi Provincial League (NPL) side Superloaf FC by a 5-0 whipping in a friendly match played on Saturday 18 January 2014 at the City Stadium starting 1430hrs local time.<\/p>\n<p>David <i>Calabar<\/i> Owino scored a sparkling brace in the 23<sup>rd<\/sup> and 33<sup>rd<\/sup> minutes before new signings Jared Obwoge, Herbert Kopany and Shaban Kenga netted a debut goal each in the 71<sup>st<\/sup>, 74<sup>th<\/sup> and 82<sup>nd<\/sup> minutes respectively.<\/p>\n<p><b>David Owino<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Gor were offensive from the opening whistle and could have broken the deadlock in 22<sup>nd<\/sup> minute when a Dan Sserunkuma curling shot was parried off by Superloaf keeper Charles Otieno for a fruitless corner.<\/p>\n<p>A minute later, Gor were on the lead. Returning Rama Salim found David Owino from a free kick on the right flank with the latter squeezing between Superloaf defenders to open the score lines.<\/p>\n<p>Ten minutes later, the Kenyan international claimed a brace from another header after latching on a Rama Salim back heel pass coming from an Eric Ochieng\u2019 corner kick as the match went for a break with the Kenya Premier League (KPL) champions leading.<\/p>\n<p><b>Resumption <\/b><\/p>\n<p>On resumption, the champions made changes bringing on Shaban <i>Touchscreen<\/i> Kenga for Kevin Omondi, Joel Bataro for David Juma in goal, Jared Obwoge for Rama Salim, Daniel Onyango for Eric Ochieng, Haron Shakava for Israel Emuge, Solomon Nasio for <i>Calabar<\/i>\u00a0and Herbert Kopany for Dan Sserunkuma.<\/p>\n<p>The rioting began with Jared Obwoge tripling the lead on the 72<sup>nd<\/sup> minute after a lone effort inside the box.<\/p>\n<p><b>Kenga\u2019s pile driver<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Three minutes later, Herbert Kopany, a Kanga High School alumnus tapped in a racing Solomon Nasio clear cut pass from the right channel but it was Kenga\u2019s pile driver that arose jubilation from the stands with the Ingwe chantings renting the air from Kogalo fans.<\/p>\n<p>Superloaf who looked inexperienced created minimum chances with few minutes to fulltime but former Western Stima custodian David Juma ensured he produces top drawer saves to keep a clean sheet on his debut.<\/p>\n<p>Blackberry did not feature in the match as he followed matters from the stands together with Innocent Mutiso and experienced Patrick Oboya.<\/p>\n<p><b>Amin Agik<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Top tier referee Amin Agik was at the centre of the proceedings with the assistance of John Alando and Japheth Juma as the first and second assistants respectively.<\/p>\n<p><b>Starting XI:<\/b> 23.
