{"id":383,"date":"2012-03-13T02:09:05","date_gmt":"2012-03-13T02:09:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/?p=383"},"modified":"2012-03-13T03:14:14","modified_gmt":"2012-03-13T03:14:14","slug":"matano-lmay-join-technical-bench","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/news\/matano-lmay-join-technical-bench\/","title":{"rendered":"Matano may join technical bench"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/gorfc.com\/images\/stories\/gor_pics\/matanorobert100725reactskplpix300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From supersport.com<\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia has been linked with former AFC Leopards coach Robert Matano in a bid to beef up its technical bench.<\/p>\n<p>Sources say that Matano, who also played for Gor\u2019s archrivals will  assist interim coach John Bobby Ogolla in trying to revive the club\u2019s  flagging fortunes this season.<\/p>\n<p>If the move happens, it will reunite the two coaches who were at the  helm when Sofapaka won its maiden title at its very first attempt in  2009.<\/p>\n<p>It will be reversed roles though as at Sofapaka, Matano was head coach while Ogolla was his assistant.<\/p>\n<p>Matano watched Gor\u2019s training on Sunday and is set to officially start work on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The club sacked the entire technical bench led by coach Anaba Awono  last week over poor results and placed Ogolla as coach on an interim  basis.<\/p>\n<p>Gor has lost its last four matches losing 3-0 and 1-0 to Mozambique\u2019s  Ferroviario in the Caf Confederations Cup and 1-0 to Muhoroni and  Karuturi in the league. They are currently 13th on the log with just  three points from three games.<\/p>\n<p>Contacted for comment, Gor&#8217;s secretary general George Bwana refused to confirm or deny the reports.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;People come up with all sorts of rumours where Gor is concerned.
