Mahia woes continue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Courtesy of futaa.com<\/p>\n<p>Kenyan Premier League 2011 champions Tusker FC jumped back to title contention in style after staging a strong comeback to beat Gor Mahia 2-0 at the Nyayo National Stadium Wednesday evening.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gor&#8217;s flying start<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia started on a high with their speedy forwards pushing hard on the Brewer\u2019s goal for an early goal but the Breweres defenders came in handy to clear the always eminent danger.<\/p>\n<p>Tusker received their first booking early in the match when Jerry Santo used a high boot as Gor Mahia persisted in their attacks.<\/p>\n<p>Former Tusker forward and their last season top scorer George Midenyo proved a thorn in the flesh of his former team but was stopped on several occasions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tusker&#8217;s return<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kasaya was forced to his first flying save of the match from a Peter Opiyo free kick in the 25<sup>th<\/sup> minute letting it roll outside for a corner.<\/p>\n<p>Tusker slowly started to gain possession in the match with Gor\u2019s Ngwa and Tusker\u2019s Mukaisi looking dangerous on either ends.<\/p>\n<p>The Brewers were at it yet again in the 40<sup>th<\/sup> minute with Kasaya being forced to a frantic save from a Joseph Emeka gasping header from close range after great work by Patrick Kagogo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>second half<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Brewers staged a strong show in the second half with Kagogo and Kitawi making runs from the midfield into the Gor Mahia half.<\/p>\n<p>They however received a second booking in the 51<sup>st<\/sup> minute after Joakins Atudo brought down Gor\u2019s Ali Abondo in the midfield.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Atundo made up for his previous mishap 14 minutes later when he headed in from close range after a superbly taken corner kick to put Tusker ahead of the game.<\/p>\n<p>Patrick Kagogo then ensured that the KPL champions stretched the lead 10 minutes later when his thunderous left-foot shot from the right flank rolled under Wycliff Kasaya for a second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Changes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gor mahia strengthened their attack bringing in Moses Odhiambo, Kevin Omondi, Rama Salim in for George Midenyo, Ali Abondo and Ibrahim Kitawi.<\/p>\n<p>This however was well marked by Tusker FC who also brought in Paul Were for Mukaisi, Fred Ajwanga for Kagogo and managed to maintain their lead to full time.<\/p>\n<p>The win pushes Tusker to the third spot with 10 points one behind second placed Sofapaka and three behind leaders AFC Leopards who are currently on a roll.<\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia remain in 14th slot with three points
