The Sh38 million two-year deal signed in March 2011 and which was extended in March last year to the tune of Sh37m for a season expires end of this month.

Gor secretary general Chris Omondi told Sunday Nation Sport that Brookside has never made it official that it would not renew the sponsorship deal.

“What you have been reading in the local media is speculation and falsehoods. They (Tuzo) have never put it in writing that they will not partner us when the current deal expires,” said Omondi.

“In fact we are meeting them next week and we hope to reach a common ground regarding a new and better deal.” Omondi said Gor’s negotiating team will push for a better deal as the current one was rigid not flexible.

“The previous contract was a little bit restrictive and we want them to open up. If they don’t and a better deal comes up, they will have an alternative of being co-sponsors,” he said.

Gor is understood to be in talks with a host of companies but Omondi denied that they are negotiating with Keroche Breweries, saying Gor fans should not panic as measures are in place to take care of players’ welfare.

Gor have also been linked to Chase Bank, who are said to be lining up a Sh15 million deal worth of insurance cover for the club.

Gor Mahia to pocket revenue from double header

Gor Mahia will pocket all ticket revenue from Sunday’s double header scheduled for City Stadium.

KCB will play host to former league champions Tusker in an early kick-off match (2pm) before K’Ogalo cross swords with leaders Western Stima in the second match at 4:15pm.

According to club Secretary General, Chris Omondi, there will be no sharing of match revenue with KCB following an agreement in principle between the two clubs in a meeting held on Thursday .

“We agreed with KCB that Gor Mahia takes care of all the match-related costs including security and safety charges and that the bankers will only use the ground to host their match.
