There have been reports of disharmony between members of the playing unit at Gor Mahia. An investigation supposedly conducted by the Daily Nation suggests that there is a Rift between some senior players.<\/p>\n
\u201cSome of the local senior players are not happy with the fact that some Ugandans are earning about Sh50,000 more than them. The Ugandans are, in turn, of the opinion that the Kenyan players \u201cdon\u2019t work as hard for the team\u201d a player said to the Daily Nation.<\/p>\n
Bobby Williamson categorically denied the allegations. \u201cThat is all lies\u201d the Scot responded.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis nonsense comes from social media I guess, and that is why I prefer not to respond to such. What I will say is I am not entirely satisfied with the team\u2019s performance in the last couple of games, but we have just been unlucky at times.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat I urge our fans to do is keep supporting the team and that will help us turn this (poor form) around quickly.\u201d said Williamson to the Nation.<\/p>\n
The club\u2019s secretary general Chris Omondi admitted to the players being troubled by some \u201csmall internal issues\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe results are disturbing. I have talked to the players and coach and, sure, there is some discontent which we will manage. But the issue about salary disparity doesn\u2019t add up because contracts are negotiated individually,\u201d Omondi said to the Nation.<\/p>\n
It is clear however that there is some disquiet within the playing unit given that the Secretary General has confirmed as much. And it is likely to be one of the contributing factors in the run of poor form by the club lately.<\/p>\n
