Per the KPL website, the match will be played at City stadium. Kickoff time is 4:15pm.

After a bright start, Gor Mahia has slumped, gaining only one point in the last three games amid reports of disquiet in the camp. Throughout all this, coach Williamson has tried to put on a brave face.

“I really don’t want to discuss what happened in Mombasa since it’s in the past now. We have started training again and our focus is now on our next match, against KCB FC,” Williamson said.

“We have ample time to prepare ourselves and correct the mistakes and I hope we will bounce back,” he told supersport

KCB are not doing any better. In fact they are second from bottom with three points. But KCB has always been a tough nut to crack and last year they beat Gor Mahia in the second leg. Gor Mahia will not only be looking to get back on track but also to earn a measure of revenge.

Bobby Williamson however says his team will not underrate the opponents.

“It will be a very tricky match since they (KCB) want to get their season back on track and therefore are hungry to register a win. I urge my boys to treat the match with the seriousness it deserves,” he told supersport.

He will have more options as Israel Emuge, Musa Mohamed David Juma , David Owino and Anthony Akumu have all resumed training. He will need them when he comes up against Mungai Kiongera, a man who knows Gor Mahia and their strategies very well.

Fans will also be hoping that the players have put their issues behind them and are ready to focus on the task at hand. One player who many fans are hoping will get back on track is George Odhiambo “Blackberry”. He has done well at times but has yet to regain the kind of form that saw him named KPL player of the year in 2010. He will be needed in order to reduce the over-reliance on Sserunkuma.

If someone had told you last year that you would have Rama, Sserunkuma and Blackberry all in the same line-up, you would have expected fireworks. But that combination has yet to yield results. Hopefully coach Williamson has been busy working on strategies and on cohesion to make those forwards productive. Sometimes it takes a while to get co-strikers to build cohesion.

Another area that must improve is the defense. After starting with three clean sheets, the defense has suddenly become porous.

Gor Mahia have a chance to get back on track when they take on KCB on Wednesday.
