The management has explained the situation to us and we understand that we don\u2019t have a sponsor. We will continue giving our best on the pitch as they look into the matter,\u201d one of the players said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>CONFIRMED REPORTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Club secretary-general Chris Omondi confirmed that they owe each player Sh15,000 in winning bonuses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Despite the financial challenges, Gor has been on a winning streak, beating KCB 3-2 and Thika United 2-1 in the KPL Top Eight tournament. This was followed by another 2-1 win over hosts Ulinzi Stars and 3-0 thrashing of Muhoroni Youth at the City Stadium in the league fixtures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>From the four wins, the players have only been paid winning bonuses from the KCB match. Each player is entitled to Sh5,000 in bonuses for every match won. The club has 25 players, bringing the total amount of money owed to Sh375,000.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The tough financial situation has forced the club to use Tuzo-branded training kits long after the expiry of the team\u2019s sponsorship deal with the dairy firm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>At Wednesday\u2019s training session at City Stadium, the squad of 18 trained under coach Bobby Williamson in Tuzo-branded kits.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cWe find ourselves in a mess. I know it is unprofessional to use those kits but we don\u2019t have a choice. We are yet to acquire new kits and we can only use what we have,\u201d Omondi said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Head coach Williamson declined to comment on the matter. The club\u2019s Under-19 side has also been using Tuzo-branded kits.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Daily Nation has learnt that Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has stepped in and purchased an away kit for the team. The club does not have an away kit and would have found itself in an tricky situation when they visit Sony Sugar at the Awendo Green Stadium this weekend.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Omondi said the kits were to be delivered Wednesday evening in time for Saturday\u2019s tie. Last Thursday, Gor launched a funds drive and fans were asked to send donation to MPesa paybill number 350100.
