Tusker FC have made it to the 2014 Top 8 tourney after forcing Gor mahia to 1-1 draw in the Top 8 semi final match played at the City Stadium<\/p>\n

Substitute Jesse Were scored the equalizing \u00a0in the 54th<\/sup> minute \u00a0to cancel out Rama Salim third minute \u00a0goal with the \u00a0proving crucial in handing \u00a0Tusker a\u00a02-1 overall \u00a0win to make it to the finals.<\/p>\n

Gor mahia \u00a0playing at home made known their intention early \u00a0stunning Tusker with an early \u00a0third minute goal after\u00a0 short corner from Timonah \u00a0wanyonyi to \u00a0\u00a0Godfrey Walusimgi, saw the Ugandan\u00a0 lift up a \u00a0left foot cross in to the Tusker danger zone to find unmarked Rama \u00a0salim who latched onto the ball with a sliding kick \u00a0to fire K\u2019ogallo ahead.<\/p>\n

Tusker\u2019s Clifford Alwanga saw header going wide from \u00a0\u00a0a left wing cross from in Tusker first attack at goal in the 12minute.<\/p>\n

In the 18th<\/sup> minute Sserunkuma\u2019s one two touches with Rama \u00a0almost made it two for Gor as the Ugandan \u00a0followed through\u00a0 Rama\u2019s pass but \u00a0was denied by \u00a0an incoming Samuel Odhiambo in Tusker goal.<\/p>\n

The 24th<\/sup> minute witnessed Brian Osumba picking \u00a0up a poor clearance from Gor defence before shooting \u00a0from outside box, his shot \u00a0rattling \u00a0the post to go \u00a0out of play.<\/p>\n

Tusker came close again in the 31st<\/sup> minute with a low through pass from Osborne Monday through pass finding Osumba who was cut out \u00a0to safety by a sliding David Owino.<\/p>\n

Gor last chance of the first half occurred after Rama cross from left was poorly cleared by Omar to find \u00a0a free \u00a0Geofrey Kizito in the Tusker\u2019s \u00a0box but the Ugandan took too much time for recovering Tusker defence block his effort back into the pitch.<\/p>\n

The second half started with both teams play dominated at the centre of the pitch with occasional unsuccessful breaks towards goals .<\/p>\n

Tusker coach Kimanzi opted for early offensive change bringing in forward Jesse Were for Andrew Tololwa with 51 minute .played<\/p>\n

The new entrant \u00a0needed only \u00a0three minutes to put his name on the score sheet.<\/p>\n

The forward picked up by Clifford Alwanga\u2019s \u00a0pass \u00a0before racing \u00a0towards \u00a0Gor Mahia box to fire in a low powerful shot beating Jerim onyango at goal to land in the far low corner of the \u00a0net \u00a0for an equalizer.<\/p>\n

The striker came knocking again in the 55th minute after sprinting forward to meet Alwanga\u2019s pass yet again before beating a incoming, out of his \u00a0box Jerim Onyango \u00a0but \u00a0tumbled down, losing his balance allowing Mohammed \u00a0Musa to clear the recovery for a Tusker corner.<\/p>\n

Rama Salim thought to have brought K\u2019ogal lo back into the match in the 56th<\/sup> minute. The striker clever \u00a0chip from Kengas\u2019s cross \u00a0beating Tusker goalie Odhiambo but was flagged \u00a0to be offside.<\/p>\n

The match pace later on diminished \u00a0as Gor resorted to long balls from own half to the other with but unable to penetrate with Tusker on their part maintaining possession by moving the ball back and forth with \u00a0time fast elapsing.<\/p>\n

Bobby Williamson changes in the 67th minute bringing in Herbert Kopany,Kevin Omondi \u00a0and George Odhaimbo for Sserunkuma, Wanyonyi and Kenga were all futile as Tusker defence increased their watch cutting out K\u2019ogallo subsequent attacks at goal.<\/p>\n

Gor Baba Kizito booking with 5 minute to play was followed a by \u00a0delay of the match as what seems to be \u00a0\u00a0fans disruption before the encounert resumed\u00a0 four minutes later.<\/p>\n

The three added minutes to play proved not enough to \u00a0provide Gor with an opportunity to save their quest for the finals \u00a0as the \u00a0home side fell out of the Cup competition \u00a0in similar fashion as the previous year.<\/p>\n
