KRA striker Roosevelt Blatty found himself in a good scoring position minutes later after he was put through by Kataka but his hard shot was parried away by the impressive Jerim Onyango.

Gor Mahia’s youngster Joseph Wanyonyi made a good run down the left flank, left Davies Ikocheli for dead but shot disappointingly wide from inside the box in the 35th minute.

KRA custodian Philip Odhiambo dived to save Sserenkuma’s low shot after the Ugandan had intercepted Douglas Okumu’s back pass in the 45th minute.

Second Half

Gor Mahia introduced youngster Herbert Kopany just after the breather. Sserenkuma could have opened the scoring three minutes later but Philiph Odhiambo denied him.

KRA brought it former Gor Mahia midfielder Ivan Anguyo for Evans Albera in the 64th minute and rested Joseph Muleme for former City Stars forward George Mwangi minutes later.

Jerim Onyango punched away Mwangi’s powerful header from inside the box in the 68th minute as KRA continued piling in the pressure in search of the opening goal.

Gor tactician Bobby Williamson introduced Kevin Omondi for Kopany in the 68th minute and Dan Onyango for the jaded Eric Ochieng in the 78th minute.

Both teams continued their search for the crucial goal but it was not to be largely due to the outstanding goalkeeping of Jerim Onyango and Philip Odhiambo.

Gor Mahia is still at the helm of the 16-team KPL log with 30 points while KRA is fifth with 24 points, both having played 15 matches.

Squads

KRA Starting XI: 22 Odhiambo Philip, 25 Ikochelli Davies, 3 Ochieng’ Rogers, 4 Douglas Okumu, 5 Misiko Edwin, 7.
