Someone in the EC must have listened. The club has postponed the Fund Raiser to November 6 and is now targetting to raise KES 20 million. The venue will be Railway club in Nairobi.<\/p>\n<p>According to club official Ronald Ngala, the event&#8217;s primary goal is to raise money for the off-season.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The fund-raiser is meant to help us run the club once the season is over because we will not have gate collections. The most important thing is to retain our best players even before we think about buying new talent,\u201d Ngala told goal.com<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With Gor Mahia lacking a sponsor, any money raised would be\u00a0 useful in shoring up the squad which was depleted by a mass exodus of players in mid-season.<\/p>\n<p>However some of the issues raised in the previous column still have not been addressed. Among other things, there is still very little publicity. Indeed most Gor Mahia fans were not aware of the initial planned date nor are they aware that there is a new date.<\/p>\n<h3>Reclaiming Gor Mahia&#8217;s land<\/h3>\n<p>The guest of honour will be Nairobi governor Evans Kidero who is to be commended for coming to the assistance of the club on several occasions. But the one area he would help the club the most is by enabling the club to reclaim the land it owns in Embakassi. That land was allocated to Gor Mahia by the Moi regime. But due to inaction by the club, it was claimed by squatters. That land could be used to build a training ground and start the club on its way to building an asset base.
