The duo joined Gor from Rwandan side Rayon Sports.

The biting financial crunch has seen some of the players boycott training and the source said that coach Frank Nuttall was at his wits end on how to deal with the issue.

“Innocent Wafula has been missing for the last seven days over monetary issues. This is a player who can win you a game any day. The coach has been to the office on several occasions to have this matter addressed but nothing has been done.

“On Tuesday, Emuge (Israel) and Timothy (Otieno) did not turn up for training while today (Wednesday) Karim and Sibomana did not show up. Things are getting out of hand,” said the source.

Liberian defender, Dirkir Glay, also risks not being fielded in future matches as his work permit has expired but the office has been dilly-dallying on the matter.

The cub’s acting secretary general Ronald Ngala said they were aware of the issues. “It’s true we owe them some money, and we are going to sort out that issue soon,” he said.

Factors

A number of factors have contributed to the club’s current financial malaise some of which are out of the clubs control and some of which are self inflicted.

Lack of league action has curtailed gate collections, an important source of the club’s revenue

The immense expense of playing continental football

A fall in attendance of league matches and international matches

The club’s inability to follow up on initiatives like the membership recruitment drive and the SACCO initiative

The clubs inability to get a sponsor.

And it does not help that the club Chairman has been kept busy by the recent courtroom battles pitting the KPL and the FKF.

This is the time for club members and fans to come to the rescue of the club before the league campaign is derailed.
