Mathare United have signed a lucrative sponsorship deal with British insurance company Britam.<\/p>\n<p>The deal is worth is worth Ksh 25 million per year for three years for a total of Ksh 75 million. Congratulations are due to Mathare.<\/p>\n<p>However this means Gor Mahia will really need to press the accelerator on their efforts to shore up their financial situation lest the club starts losing players to Mathare.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the club&#8217;s recent initiatives appear to have stalled. Recently the club started an initiative that would see loaves of bread branded with the Gor Mahia logo. Out of each loaf sold, Gor Mahia was to get 1 shilling.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We have signed the deal and hope it can help us raise money to run the club in the coming months. The bread is already on sale and we urge our supporters to buy as many loaves as possible to increase what comes to our coffers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The deal was supposed to be signed on Monday and was the brainchild of former club CEO Omondi Aduda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI started the campaign to have the bread company come on board during my days as <em> K\u2019Ogalo <\/em> CEO and I am happy that they have now reached an agreement and that the deal will be launched on Monday.&#8221; said Aduda to goal.com<\/p>\n<p>Yet Monday came and went with no formal announcement or launch.
