{"id":709,"date":"2012-06-29T01:00:41","date_gmt":"2012-06-29T01:00:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/?p=709"},"modified":"2012-06-29T01:02:35","modified_gmt":"2012-06-29T01:02:35","slug":"kpl-barrs-kogalo-from-signing-imbem-mbugua","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gormahia.net\/latest\/news\/kpl-barrs-kogalo-from-signing-imbem-mbugua\/","title":{"rendered":"KPL barrs Kogalo from signing Imbem, Mbugua"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure style=\"width: 222px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gormahia.net\/images\/imbem12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Imbem has been barred from playing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Courtesy of EA Standard<\/p>\n<p>Gor Mahia are upset with the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) for barring them from signing two players ahead of the second leg, which kicked off last weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Gor could not field former Tusker forward Itubu Imbem (pictured) and Osca Mbugua formerly of Nairobi City Stars against Western Stima on Saturday after failing to get clearance from the league company in time for the restart of the league.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Club secretary George Bwana said the action by KPL was unfair and unwarranted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe did everything as per the rules and are shocked that KPL has declined to approve our signings as it ought to be,\u201d said Bwana.<\/p>\n<p>Bwana dismissed reasons given by the company that one of the players Mbugua has a running contract while Imbem lucks a work permit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have evidence that Mbugua is no longer a City Stars player after we paid his club a transfer fee while Imbem got his permit two years ago and we have been informed by the Immigration department that it is still valid and can be used,\u201d said Bwana.<\/p>\n<p><strong>KPL rules<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bwana sees KPL\u2019s action as sabotage and said the club is considering other options on dealing with the matter.<\/p>\n<p>But KPL Chief Executive Jack Oguda insisted that the club must get a new work permit for Imbem if they want to use him during the league\u2019s second leg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur rules are very clear.
