Under coach Frank Nuttall, Gor Mahia have achieved numerous milestones that they had not achieved in the previous years. During the Logarusic and Bonny Williamson era, goals were difficult to come by. Though Gor Mahia had a solid defence they scored very few goals, often winning 1-0 and rarely scoring three goals.<\/p>\n
Under coach Nuttall however, the team has been in devastating form. Sunday’s demolition of KCB is perhaps Gor Mahia’s most impressive win in decades. One would perhaps need to go back to the 1980s to find a similar score.<\/p>\n
On Sunday Gor Mahia attacked KCB with fluidity and with very good cohesion. Players seemed to know exactly where there team-mates were going to be. There was an air of unselfishness. Michael Olunga who is the club’s leading scorer was also responsible for two assists.<\/p>\n
There was also an air of determination as if the players were determined to put their dissapointments behind them.<\/p>\n

Our main aim is to defend the title, and ensure we get as many points as possible from the remaining games. This determination to keep pushing is good. Nuttall will not let the players rest on their laurels. He will ensure that they keep their foot on the accelerator pedal. And of course there is the mashemeji derby which Gor Mahia has not won in a long time.<\/p>\n
There is also an air of camaraderie. The players seem to get along well. When Agwanda scored, none other than Kagere whom he had replaced came running from the bench to congratulate Agwanda. This is unlike last season when there was acrimony with some players complaining that the Ugandan players were being paid too much.<\/p>\n
Lastly the players are determined to put the late payments of salaries behind them and focus on winning. This level of discipline was also missing last season.<\/p>\n
In general Gor Mahia has a strong platform on which to build. If most of this team stays together next season, they could challenge for greater honors. This means fans must do their part financially. And fans must engage in activities that will make corporates want to be associated with Gor Mahia<\/p>\n
